It
is difficult to estimate accurate many of the fleets in question. Very
little is known about the Romulan fleet, or the Rebel fleet.
Of all the figures following, the most firm estimates come out of the
24th century Klingon Empire of Star Trek and the Galactic Empire of
Star Wars. The highly variable figures of the UFP represent the
plethora of highly suggestive data available, as well as differences in
accounting ships. The lower figures clearly only count serious
starships; the higher figures almost certainly include runabouts and
other small ships that are not included in other totals.
Hull tonnage and total crew are particularly unreliably measured, but
the figures below are the best compromise guesstimates available from
the top level of evidence.
