Voyager ran for seven seasons.
Until the release of Enterprise, Voyager was often derided by fans as
poorly done; many suggested it was "not real Star Trek." The oddyssey
of the U.S.S. Voyager, a ship crippled and transported to the furthest
point of the galaxy by a godlike Caretaker, has since become more
widely accepted by fans, although a few episodes still stand out as
being particularly badly written.
Within Voyager, speeds are slow. Perhaps the most remarkable part of Voyager are the dramatically slow speeds frequently seen in use in Voyager, which is supposedly one of the fastest ships the Federation manufactured. Photon torpedos appear substantially more powerful in Voyager, particularly against ships. Voyager also investigates the Borg and formerly unknown regions of the galaxy in much more detail. For the most part, Voyager is an advanced explorer travelling through regions filled with "primitive" peoples awed by its massive firepower and inexplicable ability to confound the Borg. |
Janet's
Voyager fan website is ugly, but informative for the expert
scouring for bits of trivia episode by episode. Voyager Info is much easier on the eyes, and is highly recommended reading for those not familiar with the series. |
