Very little information on shielding is in evidence in this film. Some evidence suggests that a ~70 megaton beam weapon, as used on the Republic's largest walkers, is sufficient to threaten capital ships. This is either an indication that the strength of the shields is on the order of 70 megatons, or that powerful shields cannot be engaged while a vessel remains in the atmosphere of a planet. The tactical deployment of shields on an individual scale is a technology that can be seen on battledroids in this movie, as in the other prequel films.
