A common argument from warsies against the borg is that borg adapt by using frequencies of weapons and that blasters and turbolasers don't have a frequency so the borg can't adapt to them.
It turns out that is wrong; plasma does in fact have a frequency also called plasma oscillations thus the borg should be able to adapt.

So it's not even an issue.
They also don't need a frequency to raise their shields. It's more for optimal performance.

Despite years of Warsies denial of such, the EU is filled with references to shields and by extension weapons being frequency based:
"Tyrant's Test", p. 339
"'Do you know of any weaknesses or vulnerability of the vagabond that we can exploit?
"Yes. Blaster cannon, cruiser-weight and up. The hull's not armored, and there don't seem to be ray shields, at least not at those frequencies. You can hole it and hurt it.'"
It can be inferred that since Lando knew nothing about the Vagabond, he could only assume that its shields were the same as those on any other Star Wars ship's. Therefore, not only are SW blaster cannons frequency dependent, but so are their ray shields.

Borg shield adaptation is not frequency dependent as they can block physical objects like Worf, and there are ways to adapt that don't involve shields.theta_pinch wrote:
