Does The Borg actually want to assimilate the UFP?

Yes, but they're not standard; that's why on the DS9 runabout, Dr. Bashir had to transplant Keiko's unborn baby to Kira.sonofccn wrote:From Cold Station 12 Ent season 4:

It would be fairly simple to create a Kamino-type clone-factory, or mass-produce people like the Jem H'dar, but clearly that's not the Federation way.

I did not claim they were standard, merely that the technology did exist as Lucky suggested.MauriceWindows wrote:Yes, but they're not standard; that's why on the DS9 runabout, Dr. Bashir had to transplant Keiko's unborn baby to Kira.sonofccn wrote:From Cold Station 12 Ent season 4:

It's not in the replicator-databanks, or Dr. Bashir could have just zapped one up.sonofccn wrote:I did not claim they were standard, merely that the technology did exist as Lucky suggested.
If they had the technology then it should have been available for prenatal emergencies like Keiko's.
Maybe it's a retcon, since it wouldn't make sense otherwise.

Maybe the Borg goal get UFP angry assimilation Earth push UFP build military might which Borg take more goodies from. One theory how Klingon Empire able last so long Yesterday Enterprise timeline was simple factor Borg against both sides assimilation starship every hear and their so that Klingon get to weak the they began soften up the Federation and then Federation get to weak they soften up the Klingon Empire. They also both UFP phaser and Klingon disruptor making look two sides doing to each other so no though Borg. I never seen real possible Klingon Empire beat the UFP. Borg goal main universe might same thing get UFP angry enough to build stronger military fleet and better defense so Borg could get more goodies.

I could think one super race that get Borg fear that might be threat to them. Metrons might be one possible of what scare Borg enough go fly in huge number into UFP space. Metrons power enough destroy at least 23 century class starship super powers. Look human half civilians you think Borg little scare over doing longer UFP race fleeing space if they show wrath it might all over for Borg.

Problem argument Borg attack full forces no more Star Terk is poor answer to me. Star Terk DS9 Luck favor the bold the UFP had 600 starship available. Of course UFP might well something 2,000 starship available after losing take during the Dominion war it sound unlikely the UFP did not have that many available . So they could in theory have entire fleet Borg cubes attack UFP in big space battle far eye could see. Having something like 2,000 UFP starship pin against maybe 40 Borg Cubes. One minor problem our heroes cannot be the once to save the day.

Re: Does The Borg actually want to assimilate the UFP?
The real reason Star Trek written did not have Borg invade has to do simple factor. They could not make hero look as great. Picard single handle change tide battle in Star Trek first contact. If they are going having 40 Borg Cubes and 2,000 UFP starships facing off they could not have made Caption Picard look as good. It also taking little more screen time as well.
