Another one of my oddball and occansional attempts to better flesh out my Terrorverse. This being Commodore's Krevin's heavily abridged Dossier. A full year of work on this little insanity is coming up and I just wanted to put that little extra polish to it. Anyway if you liked it I'd be welcome to give such treatment to other Imperial members, perhaps go more detail on the Megarachnids I keep babbling about or what not. Just something to think about. ;)

“ Yeah her little three incher isn’t much to look at and her armor is paper thin but she’s reliable, she’ll squeeze through openings you wouldn’t believe and I promise you when she releases one through your rear armor you’ll give her the respect she deserves.” “Big Joe” Stuart on the merits of his M-4 Sherman tank.

From: Imperial Security Bureau
To: Murtan Elegin, head of human resources committee
Subject: (Partial) Dossier as requested

Name: Jack S. Krevin
Rank: Commodore
DOB: 37 BBY
Planet of Birth: Alderaan
Highlights:

*Enlisted to the Republic Officer Academy, subsequently renamed Imperial Officer Core, at seventeen Imperial standard years in 19 BBY

* Graduated tenth in his class 17 BBY, assigned to the Carrack class light cruiser Palpatine’s Pride. Earned commendation from his commanding officer, Cpt. Stark Salone, for his ingenuity.

* Six months through his maiden cruise received wound assisting in the repulsion of a boarding pirate party, is credited with saving the life of fellow crewmembers.

* 15 BBY received first promotion to Lt. Commander and transfer per request to Dreadnought heavy cruiser Hell’s Fury under the command of Cpt. Joan Rogers. Stating for the record, the Hell’s Fury then attached a Heavy squadron on “crackdown duties”, to be part of the “action”.

* Personally leads ground assault deemed “reckless” by Cpt. Rogers against a fortified anti-Imperial base. Achieves nineteen kills with his team, twenty captures as well as data discs otherwise would have been erased. Logged as arrogant by Cpt. Rogers in his debriefing of the incident.

* Temporarily relieved of duty for dismissing Cpt. Rogers actions in the Akira, whom overall command fell too, system as “insipid” and “Too light hearted”. During subsequent actions anti-Imperial ships successfully hyper jumped out of system.

*14.5 BBY transferred at Cpt. Rogers request to Imperial frigate Dauntless, then currently assigned shipping patrol on the Outer Rim territories, to “keep him out of my way”.

* Earned distinction subsequently when the Dauntless was among ships pulled in answer to the Diabolia Crisis, first major incursion by the Megarachnid species, leading a boarding party to a crippled Imperial ship rescuing surviving crew and taking command of the Dauntless following the lost of the bridge to stray turbolaser fire. Received the medal for Emperor’s valor along with promotion to Commander and transfer to Victory Star Destroyer Resolute.

*received numerous demerits from Resolute’s commanding officer, Cpt. Krul Marl, for “insubordination” “disrespect” and “borderline mutinous actions”. During which time he lead the capturing parties of three separate pirate vessels, against Cpt. Marl’s noted objection, one asteroid base and defended the colony Imperial Reach from Megarachnid invasion.

* 12 BBY assumed acting command of the Resolute following charges his commanding office, Cpt. Marl, soliciting in illegal and illicit behavior against “the service and his uniform” including but not limited to accepting bribes to transport illegal cargo past checkpoints, alerting Pirate Lords of Imperial strikes, and “selling” Imperial equipment to local warlords as well as anti-Imperial forces.

*Following bringing the Resolute to starbase Alpha-112 for Cpt. Marl’s trial and execution was promoted to Captain and transferred to command Dreadnought Heavy Cruiser Hell’s Fury replacing Cpt. Rogers, reassigning the ship from its current duties guarding Imperial Center to a battle squadron once more.

* From 12 BBY-8BBY commanded the Hell’s Fury through thirty-seven(37) major engagements against anti-Imperial forces in addition to three hundred and forty(340) individual engagements with pirate forces. Personally slew Pirate Lord Barut K’irem.

* Was transferred to the Victory Star Destroyer Raptor’s Sting as part of a battlesquadron under the command of Commodore Yuran as part of his Superiority Force assaulting Gamma-Alpha-91 then believed to be the Megarachnid homeworld. Surviving logs recovered from the late Commodore’s flagship label him as “bold”, “imaginative” and “quite capable”. Is credited in leading the surviving Imperial ships out system following the failure to secure space superiority.

* 4 BBY accepts command of the Imperial Star Destroyer DeathBringer then assigned pirate duty while undergoing shakedown. Immediately upon taking command reassigned to a battle squadron “taking heavy fighting”. Is assigned to aid Admiral Rorous Mathew assault on a defiant world, working closely upon arrival with Cpt. Jorel Dunner fellow classmate of his graduating class. Was “disturbed” and “saddened” upon Cpt. Dunner’s demise following a suicidal ramming by a CR90 Corvett laden with nuclear ordinance. Was credited in bringing down the anti-Imperial forces’s theater shield and ending the conflict.

*From 3 BBY to 1BBY continued under Admiral Rorous Superiority Fleet earning the distinction from the Admiral as “Unbelievably reckless and a hair short sighted but completely stout of heart and determined”. Participated in the conquest or reabsorbtion of nineteen separate worlds

*1BBY was transferred along with his ship to the command of Admiral {Censored} as part of operation {Censored} in order to secure {Censored} for Imperial cause. Assumed command of the task force when Admiral {Censored} was killed by the captured {Censored} and attempted to save routing from the planet {Censored}. Failing that, the Deathbringer already boarded, ordered the taskforce to jump out of system with his crew and piloted his ship into the center of the Megarachnid fleet detonating ship’s engines at their core. Was nearly fatally wounded during his pod’s ejection, concussive and radiation levels far above acceptable requiring months of hospitalization following retrieval.

*0BBY receives promotion of Commodore and offer of command of newly formed Death Squadron. Denies, requests command of the dreadnought weight Super-Star Destroyer class Judgment, then six months from completion at Kuat drive yards and assignment on anti-pirate duties on the Outer Rim territories.

*1 ABY requests against higher opinion Mallus Tyler for second in command of the Judgment and receives same. Stated “he’s efficient” when questioned on his reasoning.

*2 ABY-4 ABY commanded the anti-piracy taskforce, consisting of the Judgment the Wraith and the Talon II, dutifully with no lodged complaint.

At least 19 wasn't broken in half by a gigantic uplifted Kodiak Bear, or eaten from the inside out by a founder then used as a flesh puppet

it could have been much worse

Well keeping up with this mini-updates others are doing and continuing my "flesh out" project here's the report on Jackson.

“You don’t understand, we’ve pulled things from the Dead city. More than just moldering old technology…dark things. Things we don’t understand…don’t want to understand…things long since asleep but which now are awake. Heat-rays are the least of your concerns.” Unnamed Imperium soldier interrogated by Army Intelligence.

From: Bureau of Imperial Intelligence
To: Ars Dangor
Subject: Continuing identification of potential weakpoints

Following report has been compiled from Soth Thejas records, Old Republic institutions and the Imperial Security Bureau. It should be regarded as the most complete and accurate account on the subject, (Cpt.) Robert S. Jackson, for your review.

Early years-Born 47 BBY the third son to Braxton and Josephine Jackson, the eldest Braxton Jackson II had already perished in combat putting down a revolt on Thejas Secondus, he was expected to maintain the family estate for his still living older brother, John Jackson, whom was finishing training in the Assault Forces. Found to be sickly, no exact cause appears to have been filed due to the family attempting to “hush” the affliction but the condition was considered chronic, further destroyed any dreams of “earning honor” for the family and young Robert instead took to studies alongside his sisters Rachel and Janet. At the age of ten he was inducted into Thejas youth division were he was instructed to be “proficient” in self-defense, hand to hand combat, marksmanship but not “exceptional”.

Returning to his ancestral home he continued to be groomed as the executer of the manor until 31 BBY during the Purseworld Incident. Young John Jackson among the thousands of missing following the aborted invasion and subsequently was among those confirmed dead. Conflict exists between Trade Federation records and the South Colonies with the latter insisting each and all of the dead “missing” perished fighting at their posts while the former indicates they were taken prisoner, tried for war crimes and executed. In any event in keeping with the barbarous customs of Soth Thejas sixteen year old Robert Jackson was forced to take up his brothers’ mantle leaving the day to day affairs of the family estate to his eldest sister Janet.

Colonial Military Service- Recorded upon his deployment two summers later at 44 kilograms, less than half of his peers likely due to his continued illness, he was still regardedly lamely and was not placed in the Assault Forces as both of his brothers had served. Instead he was attached to the logistic trail of operations, a particularly insulting placement due to contact with the Old Republic forcing a halt of the expansion which had until then so characterized the Colonials. Determined to proof himself worthy of his forbearers however Young Robert was recorded by his superiors as “determined” and “unyielding” in carrying out his limited duties. It was also at this time when his devotion to his training regime is first recorded, mostly in mirth at the sickly thing half killing himself running through the untamed woods of Thejas Primus central location for the logistical force.

From 29 BBY to 23 BBY he is dutifully, if sporadically and sparingly, recorded in the military annuals as a supply sergeant of junior rank with only two incidents of noteworthy being preserved in record form. The first in 25 BBY was on the colony world Nu’leens where the nonhuman natives, freed by Republic edict five years previously, engaged in warfare against the landowners. Republic intelligence subsequently suspected the Soth Thejas equivalent of promoting the conflict to justify more restraint with “uncivilized” lifeforms, in any event Young Robert was among those transferred to the world as part of an expeditionary force.

Expecting easy triumph and sweeping victories the Logistical Supply base was posed far forward from the initial landing zones to better support the advancing arms of the Assault Groups. When these attacks were blunted and thrown back in disarray by determined resistance the supply base, with it compliment of munitions food and water, became a crucial target and the attack became known as the siege of Resolution. While playing no pivotal part in the breaking or routing of the alien army Young Robert was commended for his unflinching resolve to hold the base no matter the obstacle as well as his bravery exposing himself to enemy fire to reach Major Fuller and drag him to safety after the officer had been shot.

The second action of notice occurred two years later long after Nu’leens had been taken back under Colonial control. While on leave on Soth Thejas he was investigated and charged with killing a fellow soldier in a brawl. The cause of the altercation being the slain trooper, one Douglas Hower, referred to Robert Jackson as a “Xeno lover” following the latter’s dismissing the former’s attitude towards a nonhuman female employed at the cantina they were heavily inebriating in. All charges were dropped and the act was determined to be “accidental”. He was allowed to honorably leave the service and return to his family’s manor through he did not take authoritative control away from his sister Janet, having become sole executer following the death of first Braxton and then Josephine, believing in her “stewardship to see the day” and from obtained personal journals appears mainly to have continued his training regiment through no longer of the service.

Clonewars- Following the outbreak of hostilities between the Old Republic and Separatist Robert Jackson once more enlisted through not to the ground armies which he sensed were blocked to him but to the Defense Fleet, a backwater flotilla slowly being modernized to Galactic standards, where he was accepted. Stationed aboard the guncruiser Scarlet, roughly equivalent to a Carrack cruiser but infinitesimally weaker, he was mainly deployed either in defense of the few Colonial colonies outside their native system or in “quiet” sectors so as not to stretch the Republic navy too thin. None the less while the ship participated in a few joint attacks with the Navy proper it was during these “quiet” actions Jackson earned his first taste of command. Initially assigned as part of the gunnery crew he forcefully took command away from distinguished Cpt. Harold Bligh following a disastrous surprise attack which left their Line destroyed, the Scarlet weakened and the supply station they were defending vulnerable. Heavily outnumbered by three Banking Clan Frigates as well as a Lucrehulk battlecruiser Cpt. Bligh issued a retreat command which Jackson overruled. Taking command he ordered the Scarlet, overlooked by the attack fleet on its approach to the station, to assault the command ship and gaining its ire draw it into the systems asteroid thicket. Where upon a deadly game of seek began between the hurtling iron ore rocks, one which the smaller guncruiser was better able to navigate ultimately gaining the kills of two frigates and delaying the remaining force until Republic Venators arrived to secure the area.

The situation safe Jackson returned command back to Cpt. Bligh and awaited punishment for his action which he would have received under Imperial ruling however the Colonials approved of his antics and in reward was granted an officer’s commission aboard the then new class of heavy frigate Jezebel.

Attached to a Line in a battlesquadron the Jezebel saw consequently more action as the end of the war drew near and in true Colonial fashion was frequently observed engaging in boarding actions against ships four or five times its diminutive size. It also supported ground operations where Jackson, a former Ground Armies member, frequently lead helping to relieve and support besieged clone armies or various militia units called upon to “fill the gap”. While the South Colonies made no exact counting, and the Republic did not care too, it is believed the Jezebel with Jackson serving as junior officer onboard saw action no less than five hundred separate occasions during the eleventh month period from its deployment to the end of the war.

Imperial Service- Following the war’s end and the coming of the New Order Jackson was among the tens of thousands of Soth Thejasians who transferred where as a veteran officer and early proponent and steady supporter of the New Order, as nearly all of the South Colonies were, he was quickly made second in command of an Imperial frigate attached to a Force bringing dissident or unruly planets in line with the new government.

Deemed “aggressive” and “over confident” by his superior, a portly member of the old guard who in addition complained of the fanatical exercise drills his new subcommander demanded the crew partake in, he was none the less shone upon favorably by those higher who basked in his relentless ability to route alien defense forces with almost astonishing speed. Planned bogs of almost siege like warfare were conducted in days leaving the worlds ripe for ground invasion. In swift motion he was appointed to replace his former commander assuming control over the frigate and his Battle Line.

By 17 BBY Commander Jackson was granted control over the dreadnought heavy cruiser Vorpal Blade and assigned to a battlesquadron tasked with “Crushing anti-Imperial forces”. A mission statement the Colonial took with mixed feelings, “eager” even “happy” according to his subcommander one Tyrell Jonas to take on the “motley” collection of species who “dared doubt the supremacy of the human race” however with increasing frequency rebel humans were his targets. None the less his superiors were pleased with his results, vast armadas were reduced to scrape before his squadron and entire worlds were terrified into compliance with the Emperor’s wishes.

The only demerit found in this part of his Imperial service is during an assault on a Rebel system discontinued an attack against a transport cruiser attempting to flee the system when its commander revealed the population of its cargo. They were “noncombatants” as described in his report following the incident through Imperial Security disagreed with his assessment “wives with children” should be allowed free pass through an blockaded system. Through noted in his dossier no official action was taken beyond assigning Jackson and his ship to an under equipped squadron policing the Outer Rim where it was presumed he’d fade from knowledge. From 15 BBY to late 14 BBY there were correct. After which He and the Krayt dragon squadron answered the Diabolia II distress beacon, one of the first responders to the scene and is credited with saving perhaps millions of Imperial colonists fending off the alien armada while they escaped in anything hyperspace capable. The Vorpal Blade itself is reported to have taken the highest number of individual destroyed ships through at great cost, by the mid point of the chaotic and degrading battle the dreadnought was horrendously damaged with most crucial systems off line and its hull being boarded by alien organisms later dubbed Megarachnids.

During this time testimonies conflict with Jackson’s whereabouts. Surviving crewmembers seemingly place Jackson on the bridge directing the dwindling turbolasers, down in engineering coaxing what power he could from the damaged reactor, fighting through halls leading cornered or trapped crew to “secure areas” or any of a dozen different, contradictory possibilities. It is strongly believed he was in engineering thirty minutes into the battle because surviving records show it was his code which started the overload on the auxiliary fission reactors. A suicidal gambit, along with pushing the Vorpal Blade deeper into the enemy fleet, where it not for the arrival of the Dauntless and Imperial frigate which braved the fleet and led by a zealous Lt. Commander helped saved what remained of the dreadnought’s crew. Jackson the last to go having to be nearly carried out by the commander, a “stubborn son of a bantha” in Jackson’s words, ensuring from the bridge controls were not altered by the invading alien presence.

Following his ship’s destruction and a full debriefing on the “insectiod problem” Jackson was placed upon unattached service and appears to have served under Admiral {Censored} in conduct of activities that should not be spoken of careless across the holonet. He was briefly used as a the instructor at the academy as well through complaints and a rise of broken limps needing realignment soon put an end to that. From then to 11 BBY he appears to have been stationed on Alpha-112 where he unofficially led “training” on adverse survival courses in hostile environments using local moons and planets from the starbase as the staging areas.

In 11 BBY, due to various purges, an opening in available ships appeared and he was at last returned to the stars proper in command of the Endeavor a Clonewar era Venator star destroyer as part of a Superiority Force under the command of Admiral Yuran. A union of a volatile quality, the stoic and aged Supreme commander disagreeing venomously with Jackson’s “blunt” tactics against anti-Imperial forces and increasingly Megarachnids. Supported by the crews of the Carrack cruisers and frigates, composed mostly of South Colonials, Jackson grew more and more bold in his defiance, of carrying out orders with proper “vigor”. Placing on record numerous times that while Admiral Yuran was “ A gentleman of highest regard” he was “ too timid” in his resolve and his battle plans “More schoolroom lesson than war aims”.

Due to still favorable opinion in lofty circles Admiral Yuran was forced merely to transfer the Colonial from his taskforce for such drastic and egregious behavior rather than more standard disciplines which were warranted. By 9 BBY Jackson once more made it into the records being the victor against a Huk war fleet of several heavy cruisers versus a modest force commanded by the Colonial of light cruisers and the Endeavor. Achieving his victory by first driving his paltry forces directly into the Huk formation preventing any attempt of maneuvers and confounding their sensors from the resultant discharges of plasma and reactor breaches to shield his fighter compliment as they assaulted from behind and below exploiting screens weakened to power forward deflectors. Six out of his eight ships under his command were demolished in the attempt for a total kill or capture of twelve Huk ships, losses which were “acceptable” to Jackson if “painful”.

As well they were acceptable to the Empire, armed once more with a “courageous Commander” and wishing quickly to deflect away from the Yuran debacle against the supposed Megarachnid homeworld by late 8BBY Jackson was given command of the Victory Star Destroyer Ravage and placed once more on a heavy squadron. While by this time he had began to speak out about Soth Thejas’s place in the universe, and feel slighted at the incursion into the Colonial government by the Empire, this was overlooked in his string of victories across the breadth of the Emperor’s domain bringing all worlds back into his graceful light. Perhaps the greatest was the battle of the Befallen, an Imperial General whose name has been stricken from all records had forsaken the New Order and declared the world of Bellum to be his own personal fiefdom and taking with him both large quantities of the planet’s Imperial army garrison as well as formerly loyalist militia wiping out the modest compliment of ever loyal stormtroopers. In space the craven General as well coerced the system’s defense force to join him in his plot in addition to stealing from a nearby derelict graveyard nearly a dozen decommissioned Separatist warships.

Against this, easily a battlesquadron in strength, rose the Ravage and her heavy squadron in addition to two support squadrons meant to land troops once the system was secured. With no less than engaging thrice in the first twenty-four cycle cracked and scattered the fallen General’s forces and fearing the treacherous dog might yet escape if given any delay by the dawning of the second cycle laid waste to the planet’s defense systems. Jackson’s personal forces joining in on the deployment following the collapse of the last theater shield and the silencing of the final turbolaser battery, applying the same force to cities and bunkers which had scoured the system of enemy starships.

But not without cost however, attrition was rated at 75% among Jackson’s forces and ships and even higher among the Imperial army forces he assumed command of on the planet's surface. Cost of expediency it was assumed and the commander was praised, almost unnoticed was the origin of the “Imperial” soldiers who flocked to replace those dead. More harder to ignore was the number of them who, in 3 BBY when Jackson was promoted to full Captain and granted command of the newly built Imperial Star Destroyer Wraith, requested transfer to the ship and who were approved. Nearly half of the Ravage’s post Battle of the Befallen personnel would switch over in the following months as more and more of the original crew of the Wraith departed for other vessels.” Weren’t tough enough” Jackson commented when questioned, insisting one couldn’t be” A softskinned coreworlder” to be an effective Imperial soldier.

He also was officially went on record defending actions taken by the Soth Thejas Imperial Governor, himself born and raised on Nu’leens, curtailing some of the Imperial oversight over the Southern Colonies. “Y’all shouldn’t meddle in other’s affairs” he lodged at one point after the Governor was replaced with one from outside the south colonies, “it ain’t right”.

However after the debacle he quieted down, almost lost on the fringes of space as he continued purging hostile alien organisms from the Empire’s reach. Several of whom were given no official Imperial designation so utterly did he obliterate them, having no interest in their history or place in the universe merely subduing them for Humanity, while others such as the Megarachnids remained a constant and unending thorn to the Emperor’s plans. In pursuit of these lingering problems obeying no orders but his own Jackson led his battlesquadron, by now augmented heavily beyond standard size with lesser vessels and captured alien cruisers, through wild space into the Unknown Regions. For dozens of previously unencountered races Cpt. Jackson became the face of the Empire as he destroyed or brought them in line, a deed which did not go unnoticed nor did the pacification method employed which per Colonial tactics slowly turned each word into a virtually garrison world and fortress to fall back too.

This combined his distance, and therefore reach, from the Empire proper eventually compelled his forceful recall to the Mid Rim and believed quiet service.

Later Service- A belief which lasted to 0 BBY when the Mech world Gocdlrow came under attack from a still not determined alien race. Reasons for the attack are similarly shrouded in mystery, no territory or further incursion by this race have been discovered, but no less real. Once again Jackson became the bastion of defense against Imperial holdings against an alien armada and perhaps it was the great victory against the menace or lingering grudges of his “crusade” being called off in the Unknown Regions but from this moment on saw increasingly belligerent behavior by the captain.

Starting with the “argument” with the sector Moff’s Victrain Cosa. The exact parameters have been shrouded by the Moff out of his own embarrassment but was of sufficiently caliber to make Cosa’s glowing report of the “magnificent” and “courageous” Jackson who had saved him to his next referring to that “Scoundrel” “misbegotten Jackal”. In addition Moff Cosa strongly demanded the officer’s head, in some requests literally, for the offense whatever it was through nothing became of it due to his failing health.

From then to 2 ABY when he was assigned to an anti-pirate forces deep in the Outer Rim Cpt. Jackson became increasingly outspoken for “his people” and how Imperial Bureaucracy “is slowing us all down” and diluting “Soth Thejas spirit”. As well he spoke fondly of the old days before contact to the Republic and “ that little old drive to spread across, to prove we y’all are the toughest and strongest”.

Realizing that in his battlesquadron between 85% to 99% of the crews heralded from the Southern Colonies it was decreed his group would be disbanded and splintered to fully loyal units. At the request of Commodore Krevin Jackson and his Wraith were assigned under his command. No further complaints lodged since then.

The way you've presented Vire'tess, I believe it would go something like this:
"You, Mr. Jackson, I often wonder why men like you waste their potential serving those who do not appreciate them, who, even after all you've done, still look at you as unworthy of your Command.
I do not serve those I serve because of blind faith, I serve them because they strive to bring order to a chaotic existence, because they strive to ensure security for all, not just for them.
Oh how unlike your Emperor they are, for with them, you would be accepted, respected as you are, and even admired for your qualities.
