Since you have decided to leave the discussion at ST.com, I have decided to come join your forums, for the purpose of challenging you on any aspect of the vs debate you wish to choose. Since it is your forum, I am obviously at the mercy of your rules of evidence, conduct etc, and I will do my best to abide by those rules as much as possible.
I leave it to you to select a particular subject to discuss, as well as any other rules (number of posts, word limit etc) you may have.

Welcome to SFJ. The primary rule of these boards is that participants remain polite; there is no fixed canon policy, so if you like we can negotiate some rules of evidence before starting. I'd prefer not to spend too much time on that, though.
I would suggest that we start off with the highest layer of canon and proceed chronologically through that first, to give the audience a logical sequence to follow, and then (optionally) proceed through any lower layers of canon included.
As far as topic - if you wish a set-piece debate, I would suggest we start with the most straightforward item - STL speeds and tactical maneuvers. If that proceeds smoothly, we can then move on to the more complex issues.

Welcome to the forum, Sothis. Instead of waiting for JMS to pick a subject, why don't you instead pick one of the several threads that are currently underway to join. I think you'll find that a lot more interesting and fun.

I second that, otherwise you may find yourself arguing on elements which you don't have much interest for.Mike DiCenso wrote:Sothis wrote:Since you have decided to leave the discussion at ST.com, I have decided to come join your forums, for the purpose of challenging you on any aspect of the vs debate you wish to choose. Thank you for the welcomes all.
To begin with, I am quite happily to discuss the STL speed and tactical maneuvers issues, and proceed from there. I'd like to suggest no set word limit, because with debates such as these it's impossible to keep things succinct (at least, I find it personally very difficult), but a set number of posts each would be good, to prevent things from spiraling off into irrelevances.

By all means. I'd suggest that, if we're to cover things quickly and in an audience friendly fashion, we take the default posts per page as our topic limit (15) and take turns with 7 posts per topic.
Let's have the first post on each page introduce the topic without arguing about it, and take turns going first. Commentary from the others can go in a separate thread.
