Star Trek Shields (with a word in by Wong!)

In Star Wars, theater and planetary shields are virtually impenetrable, even with a fleet of star destroyers and a super star destroyers.

Using 1.5 megaton weapons as heaviest avaliable weapon, versus 1.5 gigaton photon torpedoes low end. Goosh.

In Star Trek, a single ship with phasers can cut through it.

It can't. You obviously didn't watch episode you are referring to.

Unless you've got some galvanized elephants handy to walk right through it.. or a cruise missile with a 20kT silo-buster warhead.

To be honest, the 20 KT shot (doubtful of the calcs, but anyways) didn't go through the shields, it destroyed the shield generators...
As far as TESB goes, nothing went through the shield, except for the AT-ATs...
There was certainly no weapons' fire that penetrated that shield...
