Ackbar was shown to be quite incompetent, managing to loose not 1, but three full armies in a brief war on his home planet. Thank god lando was giving orders... That said, defiant ftw.

Yeah.. he looses the moncalimari army, and an entire group clone troopers. To that end, when he gets reinforcements (in the form of a large force of gungans) he throws those away as well...


All because his 'trusts' in his new king, a teenage boy with confidence issues and no military training what so ever.

Oh yeah, it should be noted the separatists DID have a secret weapon. Mechanical Jelly fish with no form of propulsion other than the tides.

During "The Clone Wars" the Mon Calamari king (yes, King) is assassinated, leaving his prince son as the new King. He must be crowned.

However, their homeworld, Mon Calmari, is in turmoil as it has two races vying for control over the government. The opposing race wants a chance to rule.

As such they join the separatists when they feel their wants are not being heard and the world goes directly into civil war immediately. It is at this point that the republic forces, jedi, and mon calamari army engages the enemy, under command of Ackbar...

Or rather... under the command of the Prince of the Mon Calamari. The Prince is a retard and the forces have trouble shooting enemies... but they start to win the day, until the separatists deploy their underwater war droids.

The slow moving battles result in mass casulties, but the calamarians fight on with their republic allies... But they need reinforcements, which are too far away..

So they contact Naboo and get the gungan army to come to their aid. At this point the separatists deploy their super weapon...

ROB TIC JELLY FISH! These proceed to slaughter the gungans, mon calamari, clone troopers, pretty much the whole lot. The tactics and strategy is so stupid but at this point becuase the bad guy is so over the top "I EAT KITTENS" evil the other race decide to betray the sepretists, giving Akbar a victory, and crowning the prince king.

And they all lived happily ever after.

Also, gungans can spit mucus that acts as a perfect sealant, and anakin and another jedi are incapable of moving water to protect padme from a little crack in her helmsmen...

I hate... that arc. It was worse than the Christmas special.

Probably Lucas didn't have anyone to babysit him during writing of that episode, like he was during OT, or like Blaze was when he wrote these two mediocre songs for Iron Maiden...
