I stumbled across this just now, I thought it might be interesting?

Personally, I am a little upset that I don't have the old VHS versions anymore, the changes Lucas keeps on making never seemed to add much to the movies for me.

Unfortunately, those are just stupid enough that they might be for real.

Stupid or not, I don't see anything so far that would change the evidence available for the debate.

You know, it seems to me Lucas thinks his audience, namely us, is just might-as-well-shoot-yourself stupid. The "no" doesn't sound too jarring, aside from the fact that I'm used to the last 28 years of it not being there, but honestly, do we really need Vader to say "no, Nooooo," to get the point across that he didn't want Palpatine to kill his son? As if throwing his ass down that miles-long chute wasn't enough in the first place?

And that noise that Obi-Wan now (purportedly) makes? The original dragon call was great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUKKnD02eeE I didn't really balk at the weird noise he currently makes (which I can't find a clip of at the moment) since it sounds sufficiently otherworldly to me to be something Obi Wan projected into their minds (...?). Now, he sounds like a drunken frat boy howling at the moon, or a drunken fanboy scoring some rare piece of Star Wars merchandise off of Ebay.

The blinking ewoks don't really bother me (unlike the blinking Gorn) so that one isn't a problem.

I dread one thing however: given Lucas' unerring predilection for making changes for the worst, I do hope this is as bad as he's done. Knowing him, he probably had Ian McDiarmid redub the entire ROTJ performance to make the Emperor as hammy as he is in ROTS.

Confirmation from Lucasfilm that the scenes (or at least the NO! scene is real):

http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/ ... lms&st=cse

The fact that all of these scenes were leaked together lends some credence to the rest of the supposed changes. (although stuff like the Sebulba alien added into Jabba's palace were pretty obviously not-hoaxes.)

Although there is nothing so far that would necessarily change the nature of the versus debate, with all of the changes that have been discovered so far, it wouldn't be surprising if Georgie DID do something that could change the nature of the debates. (or at least get people to stop taking Star Wars canon so seriously when George certainly doesn't)

The only way we can have a big game changer in the Versus debates is if we see something altered signficantly in the space battles. For example, in TESB, if the ISD "vaporizing" the asteroids is shown to clearly only be shattering them. That would be a major blow to the Warsies for obvious reasons.

Or what could help them is if the asteroids stopped self-exploding, which could up their minimum firepower calcs... :)

Reminds me of a TESB joke:
What does an asteroid say to the other?

Hi!
*the other asteroid explodes out of fear*

"So the fans didn't like the Noooooo?
Well, then I'll force-add it somewhere else in the OT so it will feel natural and consistent with the prequel Noooooo."

It's a real wonder why he has still left Han shooting first when he sees Vader at the other end of the table, in Cloud City.

I'm also surprised that he hasn't tried to fiddle with Boba Fett more. You'd figure that after milking so much money out of the Fett legacy, he'd try to add some few more spicy stuff to sell more OT-Fett and please shareholders who have invested a lot in Fett Coolness bonds.

Besides, he also had to remake sloppy lightsabre effects and add silly saturated hues to his movies.
Check this out.
Far better sauce.

SHUT UP!
WHAT IF HE SAW THAT?
jesus christ, i.. i think i would actually cry real tears if any more important things get fucked with. i don't even want the ewoks to blink. i don't want the lightsabers to look better. i just want the original versions of the movies on dvd in a 16:9 format. did anyone else notice that he fucked us all over when he released the original versions on dvd? what the shit? i was so excited, too. it was just the laserdisc version. IT WAS 4:3. the resolution was hideous on my tv, it was like if it was playing on a standard def vhs tape with black bars at the top and bottom and you just zoomed in to make it fit a 16:9 tv. want to know how i know that? because i have the originals on vhs with black bars at the top and bottom. and i zoom in. considering i already owned the 2004 dvd set, and the originals on vhs, this was something of a disappointment for me.

That version was released a couple of years ago.
