Jedi vs borg

Luke Skywalker and the rest of the New Jedi Council and the ROTS era Old Jedi Council along with Jaina are dropped off in a borg cube. They have their lightsabers with them, blasters, comlinks, medical equipment and NBC protection. They do not know where they are, but know that the sun crusher is located on the other side of the borg cube, and could help them reach safety.

Could they succeed? The borg drones are trying to get them, but neither the Jedi nor the borg drones start off with any knowledge of the other side.

Assume standard competence levels for both the Jedi and the borg.

If they don't make any threatening gestures, than the Borg should just ignore them, and they should be able to get to the Sun Crusher...

Wait, you said standard levels of competence for both? Why do I have the Benny Hill theme playing in my head?

How the Borg drones respond to the Jedi depends largely on how they are "dropped off" onto the cube. I agree also with Khas, as long as the Jedi remain calm and do nothing threatening, or otherwise draw attention to themselves, they have a pretty good chance. I think once they get to the Sun Crusher, they'll have a fight and they might have to get the thing out from behind several force fields, depending on how much stock the Collective puts into assimilating it's technologies.

Lets just say for the sake of argument, that the Jedi flashed a little technical gadgetry to make the Borg interested and the Borg wanted to assimilate the technology. Jedi cant breath without oxygen. Do they have a supply? Are Jedi immune to nanoprobes? Could a force mind trick work on a single drone? More importantly, would assimilating a force user spread force user abilities to the Borg?

Um, the Jedi aren't immune to nanoprobes, but the borg would actually have to get close to a Jedi if they want to assimilate them. The thing is that Jedi are extremely powerful, and any borg trying to assimilate a Jedi would get its head chopped off by a lightsaber.

=====FANGASM APPROACHING=====
Yoda, Mace Windu, Luke Skywalker, Kyp Durron and Jaina would tear through Borg cube, holding a contest as to who could kill the most drones, with no clear winner and drones in fewer than 6 pieces.
=====FANGASM OVER=====

pretty much the above, with less out of character action
\ even leaving out the nonJedi members of the NJO council, it would take the Sun Crusher at 3-4 trips, to get everyone off the cube.

Fortunately, the Jedi are sufficiently well trained into remaining calm so that they wouldn't trigger the Borg's defensive mindset.
The thing is, you have high tier Jedi (über Luken, Jaina), plus an entire highly qualified Jedi Council and all the extra members who appeared or disappeared between TPM and ROTS.

Still, even if things started to turn sour for the Jedi, considering the internal layout of a Borg Cube, I don't see how the thousand drones would represent a problem to a force which can mow them in droves, especially since I don't recall one single moment when we've seen drones literally swarming a corridor and blotting out the neon-lights.

The two problems for the Jedi are:

1. Use of internal beaming tech. Do the Borg do that? Why didn't they do that against the 8472?
2. Forcefields. Are there internal forcefields which they can erect to seal off some sections of the Cube? Surely the lightsabers and Force powers wouldn't exactly be able to do much there. Well, Force powers perhaps, if the Jedi could TK the field generations in some way. With the guys we have in this scenario, it may be plausible.
3. Drone shields. At some point, we may expect those. Can the drones adapt to lightsabers? If they do, the Jedi will start to use Force TK, which will exhaust them rather rapidly.

If they get to the Suncrusher, good for them, but that thing isn't coming with many seats. Assuming the vast majority of the Jedi get to that ship, some are going to stay aboard the Cube. The question will be what they decide to do. Some Jedi may suggest attacking the Cube from outside, pushing its internal systems to their limits, while the remaining Jedi would try to find a powersource and disable it.

I suppose the Borg queen could crack off the silent but deadly airborne assimilation virus or just have the life support system introduce it into the atmosphere of the ship.

What's that airbone converter? They don't seem to (ab)use it much you know.

It was mentioned and shown in one of the two part voyager episodes for use against highly resistant species (dark frontier i think) and also in tinker tailor doctor spy.
