Projectile detection/avoidaince/guidance for ground troops

It appears that the bullet detection/avoidance technology is based on electronic sensors being able to hear a bullet as it leaves a sniper rifle barrel. Naturally, the longer the range, the more time there is to dodge the bullet.

It is unknown whether or not Star Trek or Star Wars ground troops possess similar equipment. Theoretically, a Starfleet officer's tricorder can easily perform this function, however I do not recall a single instance where this ability is demonstrated, whereas I can recall many, many instances of personnel being taken by surprise. Theoretically, a Clonetrooper's/Stormtrooper's armor can be equipped with such audible cues as described in the article, but once again this is not demonstrated given the number of times Clonetroopers/Stormtroopers have been successfully ambushed.

Now avoiding/dodging phaser/blaster shots is a completely different thing. We see people dodge hand phaser shots routinely; the human eye is apparently enough of a "sensor" to be able to detect and successfully dodge a phaser discharge. A Jedi might be able to successfully dodge a blaster shot but I do not recall a successful blaster dodge by anyone not due to either deflection by shield/lightsabre or by simple bad aiming by the shooter.

Guided projectiles are almost a moot issue given the rather lack of infantry-scaled projectile munitions in Star Wars and in particular Star Trek, since the preferred infantry weapon medium are energy or plasmafied matter weapons. However, given how infantry scale projectile weapons are still available in Star Wars, guided bullets may be available too (I would like to point out that Andromeda made use of guided bullets and guided bullet jammers).

A counter-sniper robot is really just a sniping robot. Of course the Confederacy of Independent Systems/Separatist Rebellion has sniper robots.
