AND, Marek was working in conjuction with the planet's gravity. And under considerable stress. This wouldn't be like if it was stationary in orbit. The ISD was in low-atmospheric flight. B-29 Bombers in WWII flew higher than it did.

Yes, but it's still an object with a 50 million ton mass...
Even if the engines are currently providing 90% push or pull, Marek was bringing in 5 million tons, or the equivalent of a GCS...

I think the most logical way to interpret GL making TFU canon is to mean that the story itself, and not the game mechanics or even the cut-scenes, is canon...

Actually, what is TFU's Holocron standing anyway?

One major weakness for Star Wars is that planets don't seem to be Self-sufficiency, and need to import basic necessities.

50 million ton mass being barely held in the air by repulsor lifts isn't all that impressive since we see repulsor lift vehicles fall out of the sky simple because the ground collapsed underneath them. The event is unquantifiable as far as what it took to pull down the SD.

What is note worthy is how far away the SD was.

So it would be easy to throw their whole galaxy into havoc by disrupting their shipments. That's why the Trade Federation was such a major power in the galaxy.

It requires 1 joule to change an object's velocity by 1m/s for every kg of mass, no matter how fast it's moving already.
Yes, but it's still an object with a 50 million ton mass...
And so it required 50 gigajoules to move it every 1 meter/second.... and he moved it a lot more than 1.
We've never seen a force-user exert more than than 20KJ or so, with Yoda on Dagobah.
And that looked like about his max. This is why TFU seems simply too outrageous to be canon, since it's more than a million times more powerful.

And why would he need to apply all that energy himself? The Star Destroyer was in the atmosphere, and SD are not known for their atmospheric capabilities to the point most assume they have none.

The Trade F attacked Naboo, which by all means is way beyond self sufficiency. Yet it was a problem. Obviously it's the concept of free trade that's in question.

The blockade of Naboo was illegal, but I saw nothing that said Naboo was self sufficient even though it should be.

The blockade of Pantora was legal and without the imports the citizens were threatening to revolt implying that Pantora is not self sufficient.

Then there is Mandalore which needs to import water/ready made tea of all things.

Disrupting trade will cause serious problems for Star Wars.

the absolute GREATEST weakness of star wars, and i mean this with COMPLETE SINCERITY considering my recent stay there, is fucking stardestroyer.net. that place is a shitheap, and i don't care who i irritate by saying so.

"Dan Hibiki beats Darth Maul easily."
yes. yes he does. know why? FUCKING STARDESTROYER.NET.

ok, but once again, ONCE AGAIN, lucas says so. it's NOT LIKE the ICS, where it's a debatable point. LUCAS. SAYS. SO.

for god's sake.

Yes, but KSW ignores what doesn't fit with HIS vision of SW.
At first he used the excuse that anything that didn't come from Lucas wasn't canon to exclude certain EU events from the vs debate, then started excluding certain Lucas material like TCW when it was proven that Lucas is involved in it as much as in the movies, and now he ignores TFU because he doesn't like what it shows... :)

Oh, and:
Cool it mojo.
You may say you don't like SDN, but you can say it in a less insulting way...

Mojo and Mr O's recent antics inspired this rant I hope its enjoyed by all parties though

the one thing I don`t get is why the hell people assume hypercompetence for the leadership? all the imperial CO`s shown in the movies where complete fuckwits minus piet`s secretary who was like ¨we`re not attacking them? WTF¨

and sidious is the biggest fucking retard of them all I mean seriously wtf was darth plagius the mother Teresa of sith? did this fucker adopt a special needs force adept or someshit? I mean wtf! I mean it man the guy gets presented as this enigmatic shadow who controls all

but when we actually see the fucker in action?

Mace windu: yo darth you under arrest dawg and I da best duelist evuurr and i has teh vapaad sith kryptonite!!!

Darth Sidious: LMAO orealmente? I has teh lightingzzz!!!

Mace: EPIC FAIL! *deflects*

Anakin shows up: OH NOEZ MACE KENTUCKY FRIED TEH MAN WHOS GUNNA SAVE MY GUUURRRLLL DEEEERPPP!!!! SUPER BACK STAB POWERS ACTIVATE

mace: LOLz i fell down

and then later in the fucking senate chamber after the complete ownage the moron receives him sidious master of the sith and the guy who with out his brand new empire falls!!

Yoda:Kung Fu your Kentucky fried ass I will

Darth deep fried* WEEEE IMA THROWING UR CHAIRS ALL UP IN UR SENATEZ LULZ!!

Yoda* end this deep fried morons lunacy I will kamehameha!!! *lighting deflect technique*

sidious: LOL i fell down...can i haz storm trooper help?

I mean his aids must of been fucking face palming constantly AND AT ENDOR!! MOTHER OF GOD!!

Admiral Akbar: the shields are still up enemy vessels behind us blocking our retreat! ITS A TWAP!!

piet: LOL trolled you admiral goggle eyes!! *piets secretary roles in* we can fire lazurs at rebel scum now??

piet: lol do you want to make deep fried dark lord mad? then no no you cannot haz lazur time with goggle eyes! the deep fried one ordered us to keep them from escaping so teh slow moving partially naked super eye ball on an easy to predict and thus avoid trajectory to shoot them

piets secretary: NO WAI!!!

piet: I know first i was like *head Desk* than I lol`d a little

and then you have Sidious fantastic fucking torturing of Anakins kid keep in mind he turned anakin because the guy was known for fliping out over family issues and being all clingy and shit thus the torturing of luke was in essence the wrong fucking thing to do knowing this!!!

Luke: lol no STFU deep fried lord I`ll never join you

Sidous: HERPADERP IMA FIREN MAH LIGHTENZZZZ!!!! AND KILLENZ UR CHILDRENZ

Darth Vader:...orly *throws down chasm* sidious* LOLZ I FALL DOWN AGAIN

I mean seriously every time those dudes on SB and SDN claim competence and intelligence and common sense on the part of the imperials and trek forces are stupid i fucking laugh I can do another post like this over the jedi council too I mean seriously? LOL TREK SOLDIERS ARE TEH STUYPIDZ it takes a consummate troll to claim this straight face with out bringing up darth special ed

I mean jesus man I wouldnt trust sidious to cut my fucking grass with out blendering his face out of sheer incompetence much less rule a galaxy

thats the biggest weakness the raging retardation of the sw leadership and no matter how much the die hard fanbase tries to cover this up by attacking treks own CIS its never changing and cannot be hidden

*has a sinking suspicion SWST or any SDNER who reads this will end up hulking out and raging nonstop*

Such tactical retardation is shown in the EU as well. Many an Imperial Admiral simply earned their position by having enough money, or knowing someone who had enough money. Admiral Daala earned her position by sleeping with Tarkin. And she was a complete tactical idiot. The only thing she did right was poison the bacta with the Krytos virus, which spread a plague among non-humans.

It got even more idiotic when the New Republic made Daala Chief of State. That's right. The New Republic made an Imperial Admiral/Tactical Doofus/War Criminal their Chief of State.

yeah I heard NJO was full of fail of idiocy but appointing a fucking war criminal chief of state is just asinine
