The EU says SW's capships have missile/torpedo launchers...

For polite and reasoned discussion of Star Wars and/or Star Trek.

I find the analogy not only passable for ROTJ since it hinges on the ignorance of what we couldn't observe, and yet for all we could see, no missiles were used, but is also completely out of place when it comes to the ROTS battle, where ships had a gazillion occasions to use missiles if they had any, unless again you can tell me that capital ships which had all reasons and possibilities to use torps at Midway did not.
It doesn't really help that of the two times we see fighter missiles used they look and sound almost identical to the vessels guns.
You mean the torps and missiles which look nothing like energy bolts?

IIRC the Falcon's missiles looked almost identical to its gunfire, so if it was in the distance there wouldn't have been an real way to tell what it was.

Of course now I've said that I've forgotten about the PT completely.

It did? I mean the red ion cannon bolts look like Rebel ship turbolaser and blaster bolts....

In AoTC, the missles fired by Slave-I look like missles, and even leave contrails as if they were flying through an atmosphere. The TCW CGI TV series seems to be carrying on this tradition.

Fire out the canon policy in a stream of letters like some sort of fever/LSD dream?

Semantic shields and a Brick Wall grade armour is all you need.

I summon the legendary Guardian 2000, and put a "Lucas Quote" token on him. ;)
He stops your torpedo, disassembles it, reprograms it, and fires it back at you.

Your Argumentation Fleet is destroyed.
