The New Standard of Military Awesome

Post by 2046 » Tue Dec 04, 2007 1:40 am

This story makes the Imperial March start playing right from my pants. Like seriously . . . I'm almost glad not to be in the military right now, because were I to see this story while in it I feel certain I'd have destroyed my monitor and keyboard via the unplanned launch of a full spread of scroton torpedoes.

Or, in the words of the author, "Allahpundit":
In the annals of awesomeness, this shall be the standard against which all future awesomeness is measured.

...

I believe... I believe I'm in love.

...

It's like... having a warm comforting blanket of ultimate painful death... The applications on non personal targets, such as opposing naval vessels, nuclear sites, etc... could be.. profound.

....

Love.

Maybe you don't always get peace through superior firepower...

Sheesh. That would be truly terrifying. I can see military hovercrafts slowly floating above streets, sprouting propaganda radio messages and instantly death raying anyone who'd be walking out of pedestrian crossings.

You are so going to behave people or Iraq.

That is just really cool! I love the whole wraith of god sort of thing with our enemies just spontaniously combusting and all that. Further with this and the other "scifi" tech the military is trying to get built by the 2020's the future is going to a very interesting place to see.
