To think that after all this time I still have loyal followers. The Tidesverse began mostly out of my own frustration with Trek and Wars fanfiction...how it was either totally one sided one way or the other. Often consumed by the meaningless and often annoying databook and technical manual style details so heavily obsessed over by the more radical elements of both fandoms, and using far too often main characters badly. My desire was to create a story that fully explored the morally gray area of both franchises, franchises that too often dealt in absolutes while indulging in good old fashion sword play and ass whoopen. I wanted my warriors to be made of iron..or full of the spirit of adventure and lunacy while their leaders the chess masters fully unleashed their "noble heroes" to do battle. I wanted a story that captured just how terrible a war between the two franchises would be...and to tell an awesome and captivating story with memorable characters while doing it..

I wanted there to be terror, to be shock and awe, to be violence and for you to hate and love the characters, to cheer when one gets one over on another., when the great game is played while heroes bleed and men die.

I also wanted to do something different..and decided that the Dominion and the GE so alike and yet alien to each other would make for spectacular main enemies...while the other factions move in the background...because while the Federation might be the typical enemy of the Empire in most stories... I don't think I could get the same emotion and horror and brutality out of such a war. Whereas these two monstrous organizations..and their more romantic pawns..could really truly cut loose.

I also wanted to use secondary and third string characters because..I have no idea if its ever been done and I've found most of them..easier to do than risk butchering the mains.

To that end...with the desire to try and do all the above I set about the story.

Lifes gotten to be busy, other projects have my focus..shifted elsewhere but the tidesverse is..a story that is going to span...almost two thousand years of Federation and Human history

This is merely part one...the establishing of all the players and their goals..the first great war. The rise of the Klingon empire and the foundations for its fall and the start of the twilight of Federation...the diminishing of the few remaining ancient powers...Q's prophecy about mankind..stepping into greater cosmic affairs..slowly..and some times painfully coming true.

I am not done...I am not gone..I will return

and when I do, it will be with thunder...and fire.. and with the puppet masters beginning to escalate the great game.

Thanks guys..for still having interest

and thank you all for the awesome stories...that you guys have put out that kept me so entertained

I will return and I will pay you guys back

thanks

Well I promised you guys I'd be back and I am, thanks for keeping everything alive here, especially you Preao, and Son of and Khas for delightfully shizo fanfiction and all the glorious awesomness three have all produced. Also JMS you too man..that was nice to read.

In any Case Enterprise E, and sonof , Preao..a certain thing you guys have been waiting for...

One does not fight for oneself for long without risking your blade becoming tainted and rusted- Romulan proverb.

Trax Sector –two days post the battle

“Well, I can safely say the Resolute is one of the toughest ships I have ever worked on” a Wookie howled in agreement with the ships engineer, his graying and frazzled fur the way he wildly gesticulated his arms even for a Wookie suggested the being was rather neurotic but Rich boy had recognized him from old holo vids. Ryyhok had been the chief engineer of the republics anti pirate fleet for close to a hundred and seventy years prior to the clone wars and was one of the supervising instructors on star destroyer maintenance. Cronus had recognized him as well and was completely baffled that such a precious resource would have been sold into slavery and sent to a backwater on principle due to his race. It would have been understandable had the old man spoken out against the empire but apparently he was very much in favor of a unified galaxy under a strong military tradition and even after twenty years in slavery raging at “blind bigots that have endangered everything” and a few other choice words for imperial politicians the old Wookie seemed content to throw himself back into service. Commodore Hertz watched him now roaring at Wookies and humans, raging at a Klingon engineer who was late in bringing over replicated materials to be used. The Commodore suspected he was loyal to the empire still due to the greater Dominion threat, and apparently upon hearing the name Thanagar there wasn’t a single Wookie among the slave camp that didn’t immediately sign up to be part of the Xeno corps – “I wonder what he did, there doesn’t seem to be a Wookie in the galaxy that doesn’t hold the Ram up to be some kind of legendary hero” he had asked captain Toq when the Klingon had teleported over to his vessel to supervise the construction. “Do you not know the history of the man whom you serve?” asked Toq curiously, Hertz shrugged “a bit, the truth is with all the chaos and the speed of this battle I’ve had barely enough time to get to know my own fleet much less the Ram or his” he said Toq nodded “it was much the same when we fought the Dominion” he said “How did that war end?” Toq nodded solemnly “it was a dark day for my people, we lost seven thousand ships in that last battle, after fighting the horde almost alone for several months while our allies found a counter for a terrible energy dampening weapon one of their thralls developed” Toq sipped some blood wine and gazed down “but we survived, we drank blood wine on the ruined streets of the capital of their beach head, as eight hundred million Cardassian puppets lay ruined about our feet” he let out a low growl “it was a glorious day!”

Commodore Hertz couldn’t imagine himself drinking over so many dead, to celebrate in such a ghoulish manner made him shiver internally. Toq had seen this and laughed clasping him on the back “you humans are all alike no matter the galaxy” he said and moved off to discuss matters with his chief engineer.

Hertz had to admit he had felt the Resolute was done for a second time, when her spine broke after that multi jump and the weapons fire she had taken to save her fleet was so atrocious, so violent that he could almost hear the vessel cry out in pain, he could feel her spasms of agony as her underbelly had been torn open. Wounds that would have been mortal had it not been for the technology upgrades, the newly designed AG fields (based off Dominion inertial dampening technology) held the ship together when pieces of her were close to breaking apart. This damage so severe that even with the “re-sequencing” technology and fabrication facilities upgraded with reverse engineered tech would have taken months to recover in port, were now going to take days maybe weeks. Klingon replication tech was almost on par with the Dominion if not slightly better in some areas, while the Resolute’s refineries and factories were working on over time supervised by a Wookie wound too tight Klingon industry had healed her spine and had begun to repair the shattered crew quarters and sections destroyed in battle. In a week perhaps two they could prepare to strike at their second target. As he passed through the engine room he gripped a datapad and his eyes narrowed

Toq looked at him curiously “Is there a problem?”

“Thory was raided”

……..

Thory

The Executors exit from hyperspace followed by Lord Vader’s small fleet of Xeno corps and imperial vessel greeted with no fanfare or welcomes. Only dead silence and a plasma bolt smashing into the shielded bow of the massive vessel, Thory was in ruins the planet split almost completely in half, wreckage from all manner of vessels was strewn all about it. One particularly large section had been hauled between several construction rings that had been assembled seemingly within the last several days; extensive damage to said rings was visible even from the command tower aboard the Super Star Destroyer.

Lord Vader looked out from the observation deck, had they arrived too late? They had intercepted Imperial transmissions coming from Thory, frenzied and angered, he could hear a flurry of curses from the Ram denouncements of treason against numerous officers. They had also picked up Dominion transmissions and Vader had ordered a rather dangerous hyper jump through hyperlanes not entirely properly mapped out to get to the battle as swiftly as possible. He surmised much of the debris was old from the first battle and the battle to retake Thory; it was pleasing to see that even here on the edge of Imperial space, the soldiers of the empire fought with ferocity and courage. The asteroid he realized was a shredded piece of land mass, how typical of Thanagar he thought to use a war trophy as a base. He could see the rings were created with technology not unlike the dominion and that bothered him, had Thanagar been reverse engineering technology? Had those alien allies been telling the truth? Or did the Dominion and their apparent imperial traitors recapture this sector? Vader’s instincts told him nothing was what it seemed and he could feel murderous intent through the force. “Prepare a boarding party’ he ordered one of the commanders ever present by his side they bowed “I go myself” Vader said gloved hands tightening over his blade for the first time. He could feel the texture and roughness of the handle, and realized for the first time in a long time he would have to grow callouses again, train his grip strength work to maintain muscle he had not had in twenty years.

Thankful as he was for these new limbs for the new lungs, for the restored flesh. If any of it was a hindrance in battle he would be removing it himself.

Mid Rim Territories -No man’s land same time

Admiral Akbar sat down; his breath had been taken out of him by what he had witnessed. Luke had been sitting silently with the stoicism of a true Jedi Knight but Senator Iblis could see it in his eyes, more than disgust and outrage it was a silent confirmation of what he had already suspected, what he force had been able to show to him. Leia was struggling to hold back tears; she slowly got up with all the dignity of a noble raised on an enlightened world like Alderan, memories of the destruction of her home world fresh in her mind. Memories of countless hundreds of millions snuffed out in seconds and all because she was foolish enough to hope that her lies would buy the freedom of her world, that grief that pain was brought to the surface again by the holo feed that danced on the monitor. Provided by members of the Imperial navy that had defected to Iblis and his rebellion she witnessed two modified Mon Calamari cruisers and a dozen Dominion bugs rain down a mix of turbo laser, Poloron beams and those anti matter war heads supplied by the Dominion the photonic torpedoes or something rain down on a populated world as Imperial vessels battled it out with a Dominion battle group. An entire continent had been pulverized by the sustained fire, debris and dirt erupted into the atmosphere which began to choke and die consigning five million lives to death. It was horrific, it was pure denial out of spite and both sides had been doing it, she felt numb to the empires actions and she had never fully trusted the Dominion but to see her own people? Leia was done, she would join Iblis and she was sure all of the survivors of Alderan would be joining them soon.

Iblis stood up and looked at them his fierce eyes gazing intently at them “now you have the proof that the Dominion is committing war crimes! “ he stood up and paced the room a bit “and more. With a gesture holograms flickered to life, “we stole these along with some kind of techno organic bioweapon the Dominion was planning on unleashing on industrialized worlds, one that seems to infect computers and completely take them over. These recordings show concentration camps mass executions” he shook his head and glared at them all with intense hard eyes.

“The Dominion isn’t interested in peaceful coexistence it’s interested in conquest, and it looks like the Imperials aren’t the only faction that has had members of its government fully collaborate with the enemy!” His voice rose as a storm now but the words caused Akbar to raise a flipper like hand in protest “Are you accusing?” Iblis shook his head “I have always suspected her and the others of being leaders of a dangerous personality cult at the least, and at worse wanting to be emperors themselves” he sighed “but I had always hoped it wasn’t true. I am certain though, that rebel ships and fighters would not have transported supplies to these camps or been transporting those bio weapons unless she, herself authorized it”

Captain Garros frowned, that much was true while there were some generals and commanders who were more than willing to get their hands dirty, none to his knowledge had ever acted without the direct consent of the alliance leadership. The young Captain frowned as a disturbing thought crept into his head and in that instant he realized he had spent too much time with the mad preacher as the imperials called him. The old man was kind, and even sometimes genuinely so but he was too methodical, too well acted and every now and then below the cracks, one could see the evil, the fanatic ruthlessness writhing below it had taught him the hard lesson. That nothing was ever what it seemed and the most dangerous of things were things that appeared to be concrete and truthful and for now, he kept his thoughts to himself. “One hundred cruisers, three hundred gunboats and escorts, a medical frigate and thirty capital ships and ten thousand fighters. That’s what we can give you for now, if we can swing it maybe even steal some of the industrial technology and the technology they use to create their own holonet” Lando made the offer and Iblis nodded. ‘Oh that sounds fine but I want something on top of that” he leaned in his eyes focused on every person present, staring at them with that trade mark defiance that all those born under Corelia’s sun had. “When you defect, damage them and make sure certain documents are leaked to all rebel leaders, let them decide for themselves.”

The group exchanged looks, it would be easier said than done surely but what choice did they have? They were betrayed and the rebel leadership would skirt the hands of justice and that simply couldn’t be allowed. One by the one all of them eyed Iblis and nodded

The sun had begun to rise over the planet the USS Yamamoto orbited, near the deep dark blue vessel an excelsior and two defiant class vessels sat in space. Supplies and provisions passed between the two as the vessels prepared to go their separate ways for the near future. Aboard the USS Starblazer, the excelsior commander Salaya walked with the younger Romulan commander. “You are certain you wish to accompany Captain Rainbird?” Salaya asked finally, the two had been somewhat stiff ever since Commander Nera Serita had requested to accompany the Typhon on its journey to find a suitable ally for this, great political game the powers of the Milky Way were now playing. “I am certain, besides” she said “You have consistently pointed out that my diplomatic skills are among the best in the fleet”. “Actually I believe my words were “consistently the least experienced” she said with a calm and almost playfully mocking tone. “You are a soldier” “and Rainbird is a warrior but also an officer of the peace” she said “I want to learn how to be both, we cannot be at war forever” she said it had to end sometime. The brush fires and politics, the backstabbing and insurrections and cold war like tactics used throughout the galaxy by the klingons, the Federation and Dominion. Salaya nodded she understood and respected the younger Vulcans choice. Salaya was close to seventy, having served since the Dominion war, Serita was close to forty years younger than her having been among the last Romulans born on Romulus, she grew up in a fractured civilization with half of the empire living under Federation law and peace and the other under Klingon Tyranny. Romulans had brought their strong sense of duty and expansion to the Federation and it had mixed well with humankind’s yearning. “And you, still going to accompany Simon Tarses to this unknown back water?” she asked. The Captain had walked it out with Rainbird over the last few days while Rainbird wanted to go off searching for something, he had seen in his visions Tarses argued that the younger less experienced officer should not make the initial contact but work with them later. That Rainbird, being the senior officer should make the first contact, the old Apache grunted and it had taken over an hour to persuade him with the concession that Tarses visit one world in specific. With that made, the two forces had begun to make their move. Salaya had felt the urge to accompany Tarses, whatever echoes pulled at others she had learned to suppress. However, she did find them fascinating and a chance to examine one of the sources of all this power was too much for her to pass up. Salaya nodded and looked at her younger companion, she reached up and pulled a broach from her hair causing it fall loose over her shoulders. She handed it to the younger officer placing it in her hand “This has been in my family for close to a thousand years” she said her eyebrow arching at the look in the Romulans eyes. “I intend to reclaim it when you return, so return,” Serita smiled “how logical” she winked and accepted it “I will wear it until we meet again” she bowed “peace and long life Salaya, daughter of Torvek” Serita said. Salaya reached out as though she was going to make the traditional Vulcan hand gesture that always accompanied the reply “live long and prosper” only for it to turn into a Romulan salute “May your service bring you honor, Nera of the house Serita” she said before turning in step and walking off towards the Bridge to join Wildstar.

Aboard the Yamamoto Simon Tarses received word that Serita’s defiant had “docked” onto the underside of his ships saucer and they entered slip space.

Neptune station SOL system milky way – several hours earlier.

Admiral Benjamin Maxwell sat sipping his morning coffee watching as he read over some news reports about the affairs of the galaxy, chuckling as some Pundits made their case and others heckled them in replies full of such posturing that it reminded him of a dance off between two Martian Peacocks and set the thin plastic sheet aside. He sipped his coffee and set down half of a doughnut, refusing to pollute his arteries any more this morning after barely being able to fit into the new Federation uniforms (with him cursing whoever decided to readopt the Kirk era jackets with their militaristic implications and the history that went with it) last week. He had been working to get back into shape, his once thick brown hair was now gray and white but he would not let the rest of him decline and wither. Captains led by example and Benjamin Maxwell led with daring, confidence and laughter. He eyed the Sovereign sitting in the smaller stations orbiting the massive facility that was Admiral Ruiz’s little heaven away from earth politics, it had been put into construction during the Dominion war but a raid on the shipyard had left the hull sitting adrift, and to the junkyard it had been consigned. That is, until the threat from the Klingon and now the Dominion war had motivated Ruiz to rescue the skeletal frame and bring it out for its completion. In his day, it would have taken months if not years to build a ship as large as Sovereign but here not now, not in this era. The replicator tech and nanomachines developed now to such an extreme that the Phoenix, was going to be out of port within a month maybe a month and a half. He smiled at how remarkable all that was then something even more remarkable happened. The com rang up and the stationmaster informed that Ambassador Jean Luc Picard was contacting him? He nodded and made his way towards the living room of his quarters and waved his hand over a holo panel. Jean Luc appeared, he was old close to a century now and still possessed, and that fire in his eyes that were tempered by wisdom. Jean Luc was the first human to set foot in Andromeda Galaxy as far as anyone knew and now the Enterprise E was making her final mission with him in command, The newly appointed Ambassador to the remnants Kelvin Empire was currently leading a colonial expedition in the lesser Magellanic cloud. Over fifty thousand humans, ten thousand Romulans and five thousand Vulcans and three thousand Al-Aurians had agreed to the mission and had left with their families to bring the Federation to the farthest stars. Officially, it was a public stunt to boost morale, that while the three-way cold war was raging for the fate of the galaxy, the Federation would still embrace the future and embrace exploration. Unofficially, it was time to expand their resources and industry, expand their size. Some defeated said it was more than that; it was to establish deeply entrenched fallback position, if the unthinkable did happen. The truth was everyone knew once one group went, hundreds more would follow. A mass exodus, it was human nature to seek out the unreachable. Maxwell smiled humans had a habit of dragging others with them.

“Ambassador Picard” he said smiling “You should be congratulated, I hear you are a father again?” he asked with a smile Picard had married one of his science officers some twenty years ago a younger woman and they had several children. The oldest of which was in his late teens and going through the academy. Picard nodded “thank you and you on a promotion to Admiral?” Picard asked with a smile “and in command of an expedition I am not even cleared to know about no less, not yet any way” he said with a chuckle. Maxwell smiled, the truth was he had liked Kean Luc ever since the Cardassian war and their falling out over the phoenix fiasco was less to do with any lingering enmity he had over it and more the secluded life he had lived. “I resisted it” he said, “When they came to me during the Dominion war, I felt that though I was right my actions were hardly justified, I always railed against Captain that did it? You know, put their egos ahead of the Federation and I didn’t want to make that mistake again,” he said. Jean Luc nodded “I understand, although none of us ever thought you were placing your ego above the Federation. I was with Admiral Jellico when he died over the Krenim home world he spoke of you before the battle, wondering what you have done,” he said. “You know, I barely knew the man but I would think”. Maxwell waved him off “I have no ill feelings, what he did during the trial was what he always did, he stuck to his guns and did things his own way, he said the things he said because he truly felt I went so far out of line that I deserved it” he smiled warmly at Picard. “He was my friend Jean Luc because I respected that and I never took it as a betrayal,” he said and in truth, it would have been if he had acted contrary to his nature. Jean Luc nodded “Never the less I wanted to congratulate you and offer you a warning” he said. Maxwell leaned in and immediately began to encrypt the conversation (though he suspected Jean Luc already did this, caution was never hurtful) “The one you are sharing power with on this mission,” he said “Guinen had told me about him and he served under my great uncle during the earth Romulan war” he said his tone soft but strong, ominous. “Be careful with him and The Klingon who runs their expedition” Maxwell nodded “aye, wise advice, thank ya Jean Luc,” he said. Picard nodded “good luck old friend, and may you find your redemption and pace” he said as the communications cut off.

Maxwell sat back in thought. Just what was he getting himself into?

"everyone believed that chancellor Iblis adopted a grave face when speaking in public of the treason of Mon Mothma, but that secretly he was celebrating. That finally after years of levying false accusations against her, of undermining her and the entire rebel leadership, after walking off to form his own cell and doing great damage to the cause, finally some external force handed him validations to all that he had been saying, As if some selfish underhanded desire had been fulfilled. Those so called historians who claim this know nothing about Garm Bell Iblis, or Mon Mothma" Memories of the twilight - by Kim'pec son of Alexander of the house Roshzenko

Thory: five minutes after the raid

The executor moved through space as it made its way towards the station and the ruins of battle. Its small fleet falling back to a safer position, fighters darted ahead of the massive vessel as they scanned wreckage that littered space around the shattered planet. There were mostly imperial and dominion craft that lay in ruins about the station and the construction project that now had halted. He could see the wounded and burning form of the Divine Fist, the command ship of Thanagars mighty fleet of brawlers. Lord Vader surveyed the damage from the command center. He took in a deep breath with his own lungs and gazed out with a pair of brown eyes, eyes that used the technology in his mask to scan the images before him. He had to admit, the female Grand Admiral had done a remarkable job on his body. Synthetic bones sinew connected muscle cybernetic partly and cloned flesh and blood that flowed through artificial arteries and some real ones that had been grown. His new lungs were entirely cloned constructs of original DNA samples and material taken as he slept but those lungs were obviously augmented in some way they felt stronger, and when he read the medical schematics it said he could breathe in anything from chlorine to certain poisons for a small amount of time without damage. The one thing he could not be certain of was the hair, and why they had repaired his head and face. He had no need of the graying brown gold abomination on his head, it only tangled and itched whenever he wore a helmet that had, for so long been his true face. He would shave when he returned from battle aboard the captured instillations. “Whatever destroyed that, the firepower was not ours milord” one of the techs said. Vader nodded a challenge, he thought and turned gesturing for several commanders of the 501’st it was time to enter battle.

In several moments, a group of four shuttles accompanied by several TIE interceptors exited the executor’s massive hull and began heading for the base and the construction project therein.

Thanagars HQ-Thory sector
The inside of the hastily constructed base was a mess of plastoid ruins and wire and smoke. Ran Harkas better known “Hardcase” of the Joker Squad cursed under his breath as he struggled to remain conscience while he clutched a head wound, the Damn Jem’Hadar had beamed in and then dispersed, getting into one of their invisible fights with the Klingons who also seemed to deploy their own cloaking technology. Meanwhile the Jokers got left to clean up the infestation of treasonous storm troopers that had been beamed aboard too. The raid had caught them completely off guard, several imperial star destroyers jumped in almost on top of the construction project unloading full broadsides and missiles on them before they could fully raise shields. Over twenty Jem’Hadar bugs rammed the Fist while the rest of the fleet had to fend off the rest alone as more ships came. Hardcase knew that two imperial legions had defected and at least one storm trooper legion was either unaccounted for, dead to the last or defected too. That several sector Moffs had negotiated with the Dominion, to remain in power and wealth while they ruled in the name of the false gods. Nothing disgusted him more and when Im’pec gave Thanagar his command ship as a temporary flagship the ram took a combined Klingon and loyalist task force lead by the exterminators into battle. They had routed those traitorous scumbags and were chasing them down; they were going to wipe them off the map. Here the jokers remained though mopping up traitors and Jem’Hadar with the silver handed himself! What a righteous battle it had been too, when the enemy in their cowardice tried to blow the reactors that powered the tractor beams that held the piece of planet in place it was one of his jokers who sent the traitors to hell, and now Hardcase stood alone against traitors or so he thought.

Storm troopers lay dead before as Klingons appeared now their cloaks deactivated, they stood in their impressive armor, that reminded him so much of the stories he had seen of the Ancient Jedi and Sith. That arcane shining armor and those Klingon masks that could detect cloaked Dominion soldiers. Their armor that seemed to serve more than aesthetic purposes as it had protected them from energy weapons. Their leather and capes under it gave them a look of barbaric nobility. A blade touched his neck and a Klingon smiled “careful now, it would be easy to remove your head from your body” she teased, he could tell by her voice she was a young warrior, newly minted out of the academy. Which was why he flinched in sympathy and concern when he heard a voice he’d never thought he’d hear chastise her.

Myra daughter of Kempar the scribe felt a chill down her spine when she had heard a deep voiced human tell her not to lecture those on lowered defenses when she in her arrogance had let herself off guard. She turned bringing her Bat’leth up and it clashed against an energy sword, the force of which launched her back, the second blow followed, with speed she had never seen before and she let out a gasp of pain as one of her lungs collapsed, punctured by intense heat. Blood sprayed from her mouth and then she felt herself fly forward smashing against a pillar of steel hard enough she was sure her armor cracked and several of her ribs had too.

The being that stood before her, ignored Hardcase and walked forward. He was tall, built strong for a human and was clad in a deep black armor that reminded her of the stories of the dark gods that the Klingons once feared ruled the underworld before the Klingon people slew them. Walking forward, he gave off an aura of tremendous power it radiated out of him, power unlike anything she had ever seen before. Another cloaked Klingon attempted to ambush him but the being swiftly deflected a Bat’leth and tore through armor that resisted that infernal sword only enough to prevent its occupant from being fatally wounded. Bleed sprayed and the human war master again gestured with his hand and he flew back crumpled onto the floor like a sack of meat.

“A most impressive downward slash, however the next time you strike an opponent make sure to close the obvious gap between their power and yours” he roared his voice booming like thunder as he rolled a punch off the side of his mask and launched the Klingon back as if he were nothing but a feather. The sword hummed as Vader stood between himself, his fallen soldiers, and the Klingons who growled at him and moved to charge him only to stop when they heard deep thuds and then the telltale laughter

“Wise advice to give to the young” Came a voice as deep as Lord Vader’s own voice and yet while the dark lord was full of conflict and self-hate. Im’pecs radiated confidence and peace, a disturbing peace sought and won in many glorious and righteous battles. In service to causes both worthy and legendary. Vader’s countenance shifted and he looked upon the nine foot giant that walked down the stairs, his foot falls sounding more like the thunder the sand storms of his home world than footfall. His massive corpulent form was impressively deceptive, beneath the fat barely concealed by his mighty armor was muscle coiled like Dura steel cables. His scarred face and great beard were full of mirth and joy, the joy of facing a worthy foe. A joy Vader had long forgotten, fire burned in him as this giant walked forward and Vader stood taller now as the two came face to face and he noted that this, was one of the rare instances where he was looking up at someone. He could read the power in his foe, eyes that were full of sights and adventures, eyes that reminded him so much of his own once, of Master Windu’s and Yodas “A lesson they will not soon forget” he said his hands gripping around the hilt of his saber.

Im’pec watched the powerful warrior who had entered the battle and laid so many of his men low. The man was powerful; the force as he had come to understand they called it. Flowed out of him as a super nova and his stance spoke of someone who was a true warrior, a master duelist stood before him. Someone forged over many terrible and great battles, someone who had bathed in the blood of many. Yet, there was something off about this one, he could barely make out eyes behind the mask and what he could see told him something interesting. Im’pec smiled this enemy was powerful, contradictory and full of fire forged skill on a level he had not seen since he did battle with Rainbird. Hov’Ghor exploded out of its sheath with lightening like speed and Vader’s eyes widened at the speed of it! His body reacted instinctively, and with the force boosting his reaction time, and he avoided having his head cleaved off his body. Turning swiftly he put space between him and the giant. Im’pec smiled laughing, “Now then, perhaps you should try and lecture me with your blade Dark one” he said his eyes burning with defiance.

Yes, this was a great chapter and I am looking forward to the next one, especially Vader vs. Im'pec. I also eagerly await any potential eventual meeting between Bel Iblis, his forces, and the Federation. Keep up the good work.

100$ on the big Klingon...

No, 200$ on Vader...

No, 500$ on... on... Damn it, I want both to win... :(

Oh, and it's about time you came back... :)
Great update, and I had forgotten Vader had been rebuilt, so long ago was your last update... :)

as a shout out to Khas and to give you guys a little something before I resume the fight of the century

Dramatis personae for the Tidesverse

The Ancient One: ImageAt over six thousand years old, he is the oldest living Changeling, arguably the most powerful and seen less as a member of the great link and more like a mythological figure to most changelings. Ancient and mysterious The Changeling known as the Ancient one led a great host of the Dominions earliest servants and members against an alliance of implacable enemies in a war that lasted centuries. When the dust settle The Ancient One stood victorious and out of that chaos came the Dominion reborn, it’s strength and territory larger and many seeing the ancient one (many founders included) more as a genuine god and icon than a changeling. Contrary and unique the Ancient one has not merged with another changeling or the great link in over four thousand years preferring to stay always expanded the Dominions borders farthest from the wormhole. Feared by both solid and Changeling alike the great link hopes for his success while secretly praying for his failure and defeat.

Vi’retess: ImageOne of the first Vorta clones, among the elite who have retained their original consciousness. Over fifteen hundred years old, known as the “right hand of the living gods” by loyal subjects of the Dominion and “The mad Preacher” by the enemies of order beloved by many and seen as a gentle old man by many, a mass murdering tyrant and dangerous manipulator by others. The truth being a fusion of both. Eight centuries ago, Vi’retess founded the cult of the living gods, a religion dedicated to venerating the founders and embracing the cause of cosmic order. Today over twenty-five percent of all Dominion member worlds follow this faith. Supreme commander of the Dominions expeditionary forces and administrator of all Dominion held assets outside of the Milky Way, he is one of the most powerful men in the known universe, one of the most cunning and one of its most dangerous. It is known even among the founders, when he speaks he speaks with the voice of the Ancient One itself.

Vi’retess and the Ancient One are among the few who have forced the Borg to the negotiating table hammering out the Treaty of The Line, dividing the Galaxy in half between them with a mutual agreement not to encroach either side of the line unless provoked for a period of fifty thousand years.

Ar’tech:Image nearly as old as Vi’retess Ar’tech was a rival of the old priest for centuries. The Architect of the Jem’Hadar program often called “The battle master”. He is physically one of the largest and heaviest Vorta in service to the founders. Though calculating he is rash and hotheaded, has been recently disgraced following the destruction of the planet Byss and its entire solar system.

Seksil: a Vorta imprinted with the memories of one of the Ancient ones peers, an experiment gone wrong. Highly unstable, very manipulative and resentful he is kept around for his capacity to sniff out plots and falsehoods and because Vi'retess and the Ancient one find he makes an excellent fall guy for their schemes. Desires the destruction of the founders

Miraz:Image A five hundred year old Ursoid, a species, first discovered during the founding of the first Dominion ten thousand years ago, That studies show they are uplifted Terran bears and served as the original legions and soldiers of the Dominion. Once the Jem’Hadar replaced them the Ursoids continued to be valued servants of the founders, as Jem’Hadar trainers and generals in the legions of the Dominion. Miraz serves the high general of all the armies in the GFFA.

Mon Mothma:Image Former senator, one of the leaders of the delegation of two thousand and leader of the rebel alliance. Fierce and dedicated to the cause of restoration in the galaxy

Admiral Akbar:Image freed slave and former servant of Grand Moff Tarkin, Akbar became one of the leading commanders of the rebel fleet. Seen by many on both sides of the war as one of the most dangerous strategic minds of the galaxy he is respected by both the Grand Admirals and the mad preacher and thus seen as a threat

Luke Skywalker:Image son of Darth Vader, heir to the Jedi order and rebel pilot, currently training to become a Jedi Knight and desiring to pass on what he has learned and discovered with destiny surrounding his family and himself he is one of the great chess pieces of this game.

Princess Leia Organa:Image Sole surviving heir of Alderan nobility, one of the youngest senators appointed, currently one of the rebel leaders with doubts about the Dominion. The force is strong within her.

Continued

Imperial

Grand Admiral Octavian Grant: ImageWealthy and powerful, from a noble family, a bit of a spot light hog, he joined the military for personal glory and quickly gained a reputation during the clone wars as a deadly and brilliant commander. Possibly one of the most dangerous tactical minds of the Empire, he is also very lazy preferring to remain as the leader of the core worlds and its mighty fleets and sit in relative comfort. Dead panned and sarcastic, often seen as a useless fop but as the war progresses others may learn what a mistake that is.

Grand Admiral Emiya Seras: ImageA child prodigy and theoretical engineer, she entered the imperial academy at age 12. Rising through the ranks after the clone wars becoming one of the youngest Commodores in galactic history at age twenty-seven she appointed to the research and development departments under Admiral Martio Batch and Moff Turhain she became one of their most critical assets. Upon promotion to Grand Admiral, she was given command over research into medical and industrial technologies eventually becoming one of the key minds behind reverse engineering Dominion technology.

Grand Admiral Daren Guylos: ImageBorn into one of the noble houses of the core worlds living in opulence he eventually yearned for adventure, joining the republic navy during the clone wars and teaming with Thanagar and a young Jedi Knight he quickly cemented himself as one of the better commanders of the war. Serving under Jan Dodonna, he became a commodore and then eventually Admiral in command of the imperial fleets in charge of policing the mid rim. When the Grand Admiral position was created Guylos was brought to the imperial capital and became one of the heads of the imperial military and head of the council of Moffs. Currently he runs the Council of Grand Admirals and is effectively Vi’retess’s counterpart, heading the war effort and helping run the galaxy in the emperors name. Consistently ranked on par with Grand Admiral Grant and one of the few who ever tied Grand Admiral Thrawn in war games.

Grand Admiral Thanagar: ImageThe son of a prostitute who spent the first fifteen years of his life either in the streets or in juvenile facilities, forced into the military by a republic court. he was working the maintenance section of a star cruiser when during combat against a pirate fleet he defended an officer in battle with his own body as a human shield. He spent two months in a bacta tank but when cleared to return to duty he found himself transferred to the command bridge. From there it was only a matter of a year before his tactical skills and tenacity earned him a command position. During the clone wars, he served under Gilad Pellaeon with distinction before getting command of a patrol of frigates and transferred to the command of a fellow young officer named Guylos. It was during these battles he earned his legendary moniker. Often using insanely daring attacks on enemy planets and positions earned him the rank of Admiral at wars end. During the Battle of Coruscant, Thanagar crippled the invisible hand and then routed the separatist forces chasing them into an ambush that Guylos and Dodonna had prepared. While General Grievous survived much of what remained of the CIS navy was destroyed. Thanagar gained the nickname the Ram during the battle of Dantooine when he used a disabled Venator as a short sword ramming it tip first via creative use of tractor beams into the command ship of the CIS forces present then ordering his ship to accelerate behind it. As his vessel came close to the gaping wound, every forward missile battery and turbo laser was unloaded into while his ship continue to accelerate. Due to the speed he was going at his vessel could not reverse in time and they ended up plowing right through the exploding ship.

man my cast list must suck!

Any way, I apologize for tardiness. I was going to post round two of the Vader brawl and Yoda trolling Tarses as a test of character, plus Rainbird was gonna have a skirmish with some imperial troops, but no..Breetai had to get suddenly inordinately busy. Then he had a bit too much to drink at a charity dinner come Sunday and strokes in the eye, and honestly I thought I yacked hard enough to have a heart attack because for the last few days I've felt short of breath and felt an odd rate to my heart. Buuutt seeing as I just spent two hours at the gym forty minutes of that running full pace on a treadmill - I'm reasonably certain I'm not dying on you guys, yet...

soo with any luck I'll be getting some chapters out to you by monday and since this last week was religiously important I might toss in some..hints to the future of the tidesverse, maybe even..a sneak peak at the sequel as an apology gift..y'know providing I don't drop at my keyboard!

any way..thank you dear readers what few I have, for enjoying this poorly written disaster for as long as you have!

I shall return

Great! Perhaps your return will shake me out of my lethargy...

I know where I want to, but just don't have the will to write at the moment... :(
