No, this isn't canon. However, some guys got together and crafted a 21-ft X-Wing out of
birch and aluminum. The results looked impressive, but unfortunately were somewhat less than stellar.

Imagine a Battlestar openeing its launch bays and, in addition to Vipers coming out, a full wing of X-Wing fighter crafts came out too... :)

I think I'd personally have kept it as opposed to launching it and watching it be reduced to pieces. It was still cool though.
