Software to backup a forum for future reading

Post by Mr. Oragahn » Mon May 04, 2015 11:46 pm

Like in the title. I might have known one or two, but it seems to stretch to such a distant time that it ought to be nothing more than a foggy memory by now.

The idea is not to have a tool to backup the data so one could load it up on another website, assuming a compatibility between the discussion board systems being used.
I'm merely thinking about just saving the whole forum under some simple, readable form, for personnal use.

Is that possible? There's a tool called HTTrack that can save simple layouts (basic websites and blogs I think) but I don't know more about it.
