Congratulations?

I flat out refuse to buy i-anything, mostly because I'm sick to death of Apple's fanboys. Apple's marketing pitch is "buy our products not necessarily because they're the best, but because you'll look cool."

But it was free. Do send us troglodytes a report of the wonders of the future :)

It was free because I have a reward type credit card I use for travel, and have used for the last three-four years.
I had never used the reward points, and had a shitload, which allowed me to get this nice little I-Gadget... :)

I too would never have bought it, had I had to purchase, I would have gone the Samsung way, but hey, when it's free, who can complain?

Bah. These Eye-what'sit or what have you are just a passing fad for the whippersnappers. They'll never replace the ease and comfort of the electromatic telegraph or carrier pigeon. ;)

On a more serious note congrats and like Cocytus said feel free to send us technological luddites, but I repeat myself, word of this brave new world. Do they have flying cars yet for instance?

Well, certain apps have cars that jump over cliffs...

Does that count? :)

Good for you! :)

Apparently, my girlfriend's school will provide an I-Pad for all its teachers, in order to help on home planning and such...
My gf will need my help to make heads or tails of it... :)

We'll have two free I-somethings in the house... :)

I can't wait until Apple makes an iCar. Just imagine. The chassis and body will be CNC milled from a single billet of aluminum, with a single piece wrap around windshield. There will be only one pedal, and nice colorful touchscreen displays everywhere. They're capacitive, not resistive, so take care not to knock them around much. Base price is $800,000.

:)

I'm just funnin'

You forgot the most important aspect of the ICar:

-Out of the box, they have no steering wheel (downloadable app), no brakes (another app), no lockable doors (because, well, you know, apps);
-you can only use a specific kind of fuel no compatible with anything else;
-and any upgrades will cost you twice the price of the car;
-any comparable cars by the competition will have all its apps already installed and cost half the price...

Those pads are well done for the expensive ones (and that's not even a given, some have very sluggish OSes and GUIs), but they're just so useless. They're moderately relevant to read some PDFs in bed, at best, providing a display that's more comfortable than the e-readers. I bought one for job opportunities because millions have been sold already. :p

And you'll have to use iTunes to refuel it.

The nightmare.
