Re: The Real Face of the European Union
You can already start talking about the massive economical and judiciary union that's going to happen between the EU and the USA. Things are going to be strengthened circa 2015, with those "transatlantic" deals.
It is not surprising that the Nazi would discuss of an European economy considering the force they would have represented had their ideal of pangermanism reached fruition. It's in fact pure stupidity to think no one would hold conferences and plans in the aftermath of the appearance of such an economical power.
The story being that the so called founding fathers of what would become the EU were taking their orders from the United States, not whatever secret remain of the 3rd Reich there would be.
Take a look at this page: http://www.euro-history.org.uk/ideals-ideology.htm
Not perfect but a good beginning and fairly light in terms of spookiness. It lacks so many details, and makes no mention of the role of Schuman, which was extremely important, perhaps far more than Monnet, who at that time was a federalist zealot, an efficient man.
I know that Michel Clapié wrote a book about EU institutions, which alludes to the deals between West Germany and the USA and how other countries were left out of the loop.
Another and perhaps more important book that literally shines a new light on the role of Monnet in the construction of the EU as it is now, defended by 99.99% of deputes and politicians of nearly all EU countries, was written by Andreas Bracher and titled Europa im amerikanischen Weltsyste. There are other interesting sources but it's not necessary to go through them wholly.
