Avengers movie

Post by Praeothmin » Sun May 13, 2012 11:55 am

FUCKING AWESOME!

That's all I have to say about it...

Ok, went there with the gf and we both loved it...
Starts out slow, but then when the action starts, it never relents...
All characters were very good, and Mark Ruffalo does a great job as Banner/Hulk...
In fact, both the gf and I, as much as we think Norton is a great actor, thought Ruffalo fit better within the cast than Norton could have...

If you haven't seen it, STOP READING THIS AND GO SEE IT NOW!
If you've already seen it, STOP READING THIS AND GO SEE IT AGAIN, NOW!

:)

Compared to Thor and the first CGI Hulk movie, how would you rate the Avengers one?

Much better than the first and second CGI Hulk, slightly better than Thor (which I liked a lot)...

Much more action, but again, I liked the movie Thor...

What didn't you like about it?

Everything's too rushed. The mindless action. Like watching AOTC, ending asking but why?? A similarity with Avatar in that it was pretty but so weak. The fact that I didn't care about the characters at all save perhaps for Loki, about a couple seconds before he died. And other things.

I enjoyed it quite a bit myself. I agree that with the idea that it had too much action too quickly...

That said: *SPOILERS AHEAD* I really wanted them to not rescue Iron man at the end..

It would have been much better if they found him dangling a few feet above the road with some webbing :P

How can you claim everything feels rushed? The movie is over a smurfing 6 hours long, and has at least one tie-in comic.

All in all i thought Avengers was very good, and it surprisingly had backgrounds given for the Black widow and Hawkeye.

I liked how they hinted the Hulk purposely landed in a location he would not hurt people.

I liked how Thor would take moments to think about what it was liked to be stripped of his power.

I liked how they gave two reasons why Loki could not mind control Tony Stark.

I liked how they compared and contrasted Tony and Loki.

I liked how the police and military were not useless.

I liked the heroic sacrifice.

I like how they showed Tony's love of the simple pleasures like cheeseburgers.

I liked the beat down the Hulk gave Loki.

I liked the Black Widow did not give a mind controled Hawkeye a chance to get up.

I was criticizing that shit flick called "Thor".

Are you telling me that Avengers is six hours long??

Thor felt rushed to you?
It didn't to me...
I felt it happened at a pace that fit the story it needed to convey, they were also very respectful of the mythos of Marvel Thor, and any chages they made were so the mythos could fit in a 2 hour movie...

I liked it a lot...

And no, the Avengers isn't 6 hours long, it's only 2 and a half hours long, and doesn't feel like it...

Oh no it was WAY better than Thor, not that Thor was bad but the Avengers was just great.

I thought you had seen the Avengers, my mistake.

Thor did feel rushed. It would have worked better if he had gotten beaten up by bullies as part of what made him grow up.

Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, Ironman, Ironman 2, and The Incredible Hulk, and finally Avengers are all part of the same story. Add them all together and you get at least six hours of story.
