My old graphic card is on verge of death - only single condenser is operative - so which NVidia GeForce series card is best for Windows 7? (I switched from XP about a week ago). It has to have good cooling since it can be extremely hot here at days, and it also probably helped to bring demise of these condensers about.

Have you tried looking in a publication like Consumer Reports?

it has admittedly been awhile since i've done anything involving upgrading, but i personally used to swear by sharkyextreme.com. they have buyer's guides which are updated monthly based on how much you want to spend, from budget to insane.
