So patterns generally thought to be typical of quantum particles are found in other more usual forms of matter and greater scales, that's the story?

The problem physicists have is the quantum world does not seem to play by the same rules as the macro world at first glance, and some physicists have just given up trying, but if the waves are really waves things make a lot more sense and fit together better.

Hence what is so interesting about being able to perform the double slit experiment with drops of silicone oil, and get the exact same results as with photons.

It also reminded me of all the talk of frequency in Star Trek.
