No, but considering that this particular thread is all about how EU sources apparently override other EU sources I don't think it's particularly relevant ATM.

True... :)
Did he say why he considered the ICS as the reference in C-Canon?

Re: List of expanded universe sources incompatible with ICS
Well, I think he does, considering the ICS does not match anything shown in the movies, or even TCW, except for the look and some vehicule descriptions...the atom wrote:I don't think he needs to.
So why would the ICS have any more value than any novel, if what it says doen't match with the visual evidence of the movies?

Sadly, nobody at Lucasarts cares about what you or I think, and if they (the owners and operators of the franchise) say it is so, then I'm afraid (however illogical it may be) it is so. They aren't under some obligation to explain their motives to irate fans who like arguing over turbolaser yields.Praeothmin wrote:Well, I think he does,

Re: List of expanded universe sources incompatible with ICS
seriously, though, one of the most annoying things about swst for me (and what drove oragahn INSANE) was the fact that he would respond to 'hey, man, we've debated (insert point here) to death and this board is in agreement that (insert conclusion here), so without the benefit of new evidence or, at the very least, new arguments, further debate is pointless here at sfj' with 'i disagree with that conclusion, and i base my own conclusion on this evidence: (insert exact evidence which has just been stated to be useless as far as sfj is concerned).'
is this so hard to comprehend? why do we have to keep rebooting the same exact arguments and rebuttals for all eternity? what is the point? are we really doing the leland/lucas canon debate again? is the evidence for either side somehow more persuasive the 3,000,000,012th time you read it? jesus!

Re: List of expanded universe sources incompatible with ICS
There difference here is that the person who runs Starwars canon has made a pretty recent and decisive ruling about the ICS firepower numbers that has just rendered nearly all EU quibbling and rationalizing (a.k.a this and nearly every other board's primary argument against ICS) totally irrelevant. This isn't the same argument/evidence. This is game over.mojo wrote:seriously, though, one of the most annoying things about swst for me (and what drove oragahn INSANE) was the fact that he would respond to 'hey, man, we've debated (insert point here) to death and this board is in agreement that (insert conclusion here), so without the benefit of new evidence or, at the very least, new arguments, further debate is pointless here at sfj' with 'i disagree with that conclusion, and i base my own conclusion on this evidence: (insert exact evidence which has just been stated to be useless as far as sfj is concerned).'

Despite the fact that the ICS is contradicted by just about every scene in the movies.

Re: List of expanded universe sources incompatible with ICS
Well if you want to argue movies vs. ICS then that's fine, but otherwise go start another thread. This thread is about the rest of the EU vs. the ICS, which has been officially ruled in favour of the ICS as far as firepower is concerned.
