1) You are correct that Han Solo does not believe the Empire could blow up a planet.

4) We never see how low a Star Destroyer has to get to a planet's surface to bombard it. How far from the Star Destroyer were those asteroids?

1) What war are you talking about? Fighting the Rebel Alliance wouldn't require Star Destroyers. A lot of little ships would work better.

2) A Death will not equal its mass in Star Destroyers. YOu would end up with a lot of hulls, but no reactors, drives,life support, etc.
