What about that embarassing scene in Empire where the Falcon was stuck to the bridge tower of the Star Destroyer. Not a good display of Imperial sensor technology.

Not bad sensors. Just a lack of tiny pressure, EM, magnetic or else sensors where they were needed in that case.

I'd be more concerned about the imperial eyeballs Mk-I.
First thing to do in that case would be to send your TIEs to look around for the ship.
Can anyone here honestly claim that the Millenium Falcon was that hard to spot, even by accident, from the moment you'd fly around in your ball shaped cockpit?
