Force users appear in Star Trek

Post by Enterprise E » Fri Aug 25, 2006 7:34 pm

Let's say that the Federation makes peaceful contact with the either the Old Republic, or the Galactic Alliance. Eventually, it is revealed that there are certain people with special gifts, and that these people are called either Jedi or Sith, depending upon which school of thought the "Force" users subscribe to. However, something else begins to emerge. The Star Wars galaxy isn't the only galaxy with Force users. Force users begin to appear in the Milky Way galaxy as well. The Force gene (it's a gene for the Milky Way Force users) is found only in humanoid species, and mostly in humans, Klingons, and Romulans/Vulcans with humans having the most Jedi, but a few in some others. Most of the people manifesting Force capabilities are young children between five and eight, but there are a few teenagers and even some adults that have secretly used the Force on occassion for fear that they would be viewed the same as Augments were despite the fact that, or even because, their powers were natural.

What will happen in the Milky Way? What will the Federation do in light of the situation? What would the Klingons and/or the Romulans do with this? Don't forget that, regardless of the time period, peaceful contact is made and Jedi have already come to Milky Way as ambassadors. How will they view these new Jedi? Will they try to control them? Would the Federation or any of the other powers wish to syphon off the new Force users onto the Jedi? Would the new Force users even want to learn from the Jedi Order, either the old or the new?
