Enforcement Policy: KrikSkywalker / SarahStar
And a fourth warning has been issued to KirkSkywalker, for originally calling Leon-Caboose a crybaby, in the Reason for a Death Star thread, on page 9...
Therefore, KirkSkywalker gets banned for 2 weeks...

And after checking things out and learning that SarahStar is another account for KSW, SarahStar also gets banned for two weeks.
Warnings and Bans apply to individuals, not accounts, so an individual with multiple accounts sees warnings being added up from both accounts, and all consequences of these warnings are applied to both accounts equally...

I'm not sure what KSW was trying to pull with the SarahStar sock puppet account. Perhaps be extra annoying? Have an account that would allow him/her/it to stay active after the KSW one got banned again, or actually trying to have a "me too, I agree with him" fake supporter.

I think it was just to avoid possible bans, to "reset" his counter, in a way...
SarahStar did appear before his last ban had ended, after all...

And he didn't even proxy in? He must have known he was going to get caught.

See now i would consider what he did to be what they call a "sockpuppet".Tyralak wrote:And he didn't even proxy in? He must have known he was going to get caught.

Proxies are not foolproof means of going undetected as a duplicate account, but no, KSW/SS did not use a proxy IIRC.Tyralak wrote:And he didn't even proxy in? He must have known he was going to get caught.
To be fair, KSW/SS wasn't marked as a duplicate for several days. We don't automatically redflag duplicate IPs here.
For future reference, ban evasion is in itself an immediately bannable offense adding to the term of the current ban. I did think to put that in our enforcement policy.Praeothmin wrote:I think it was just to avoid possible bans, to "reset" his counter, in a way...

While there's a strong possibility of an attempted ban evasion here, there's nothing absolutely certain about it. So for now, I think I'll error on the side of fairness and assume the SarahStar sock was stupid attempt at a "me too, I agree with him" fake supporter.

Noted...JMS wrote:For future reference, ban evasion is in itself an immediately bannable offense adding to the term of the current ban. I did think to put that in our enforcement policy.
I agree with the fairness, since SarahStar appeared not long before his 2 day ban would have been over...MikeD wrote:While there's a strong possibility of an attempted ban evasion here, there's nothing absolutely certain about it. Two additional warnings for KSW:
In the « What’s accepted in SW canon » thread, the « put down the hashpipe” image in response to Mike’s request for proof of what KSW said, about
In the same thread, called Lucky “Lucky-duck”.
As always, anyone feeling this is unfair can appeal to either Mike D or JMS...

I concur here, with Praeothmin's action, which I myself felt would not be appropriate to do more than report it since the insults were directed specifically at me, and it would have looked in poor form by having me issue the warnings. I was going to give him a warning for his remarks in "Pro-Trek or pro-Wars?" debate for this roundabout insult directed at Praeothmin:
-Mike
To which Praeothmin replied:KirkSkywalker wrote:This from the president of the Jerry Lewis fan-club....Praeothmin wrote:But it wasn't...KirkSkywalker wrote:But it wouldn't be FUNNY....
ROTFLMAO
KirkSkywalker then make this remark:Praeothmin wrote:What kind of reply is this?KirkSkywalker wrote:This from the president of the Jerry Lewis fan-club....
ROTFLMAO
You're not making any sense...
This is in my opinion KSW making a jab at Praeothmin's French Quebec background. However in a PM to me on KSW's behavior, Praeothmin was quite gracious in asking me to overlook this incident. If I misunderstood that, please let me know, and I'll issue him a warning, and probably a ban since KSW has exceeded his limit.KirkSkywalker wrote:Neither do French people when they laugh at his movies.
