The posting restrictions make edits harder

I think we have a 60 second delay between posts, but that also means you can't make a quick edit to any of your posts. Since we really don't have any spammers, can't make it more like 5-10 seconds?

I've had the same problem, though I feel 15 or 20 seconds would be fine.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but how the hell did we have 55 users online at once on Nov 3?! I think the most I’ve seen is like, 4 or 5 people recently. Somehow we jumped to 55?

It was 6 a few times actually, and I've been wondering the same thing myself.

I've cut flood control to 30 seconds for now. If after a week or so you still feel this is much too high, I'll cut it again.

We've had a few brief surges of visitors. The 55 figure isn't an error.

Did we get mentioned on FARK, slashdot, digg? What caused the spike?

That 55 threw me. I figured it was an error or something. Any idea what caused it?

If we got mentioned on FARK, slashdot, or digg, we'd see a much bigger spike.

As far as where it came from - it's pretty clearly nothing new, and nothing special. AFAIK, it actually looks a bit like a search engine bot.
