Block again gives us her definition of canon as she uses it, and we get some interesting stuff from Fontana that's a good primer on how canon evolves. It's actually similar to some comments from the "Making of DS9" book regarding the legal folks who were reviewing the show for legalities but would also occasionally remind the writers of events of prior episodes.

The most important thing I can think of having read the article is that Block once again reinforces the previous understanding of Star Trek canon policy such as it is, though it does not not include anything that could be useful for clarification, such as the canon status of the various director's cut SEs and the more recent TOS Remastered episodes.
