Praeothmin wrote:So yeah, books are not canon in ST, as per the parent company's decision, but books in SW are (as long as the information presented does not contradict higher Canon), as per the licensing company's decision...
No, the books are NOTHING but glorified fanwank. Lucas doesn't read or approve them as part of his universe, so they're not: there's no continuity with it. The licensing company is not the final arbiter of his universe-- he is.
You're confusing Lucas's universe with the franchise, which is two separate universes: the Lucas-universe and the EU.

Besides, using Warsie-logic, NOTHING in the books contradicts the higher canon.

Probably is him. I don't know why KSW keeps making these suckpuppet alts since his ban expired months ago. Oh well, as long as he behaves himself, it's not my problem.

Oh Jesus Christ, that reeks of KSW.

On a different note, I was thinking of showing these threads on ASVS to see if KSW is actually the legendary Timothy Jones.

Whoever it is, he does demonstrate a remarkable command of the material for just being a few posts in, as well as a strong set of opinions. So either way, he's an old-timer of some sort, or a dang quick study.

More like SDN, in terms of ad hominem personal attacks... as well as double-standards and other unethical debate-tactics; let's leave that at SDN, shall we?
We're supposed to be better than that. I don't have the slightest idea who Timothy Jones is, but I definitely know who Mike Wong is-- and Wayne Poe, and others... unfortunately.

The mother of all trolls. A rabid Trekkie from ASVS' Usenet days, who the entire group, Pro-Trek and Pro-Wars alike, ended up uniting against.

Uh-huh... because there's no such thing as a rabid warsie troll.
