Clicked on the link, read a few of their "excellent" entries about SJ.net, and the posters of these boards.
Brought a smile... :)
I then read their "English to Trekta**" dictionary.
It's excellent if you need a good laugh, I know it made me laugh... :)
I nominate it "Best Comedy Wiki" 2008... :)

After reading even a few enteries, I just shook my head and laughed. What a bunch of masterbatory revisionist nonsense! "Anyone can edit"? Ha! You have to register first, and we all know what that really means in SDN-speak: they get total control over who actually can write and edit the articles with anyone who attempts to write anything that is pro-ST, or tries to write more balanced articles on people they refer to as "trolls", then you'd no doubt be blocked, and probably had your personal registration information plastered up on SDN for all to see.
The tone and feel of that piece of crap is just the same as the old ASVS newsgroup "FAQ".

Razor is definately good though, and if it's any indication of season 4, we might be getting the good stuff again.Cpl Kendall wrote:Save your money. Nothing that has to do with Roslin. There is something God-related with the cylons though. Overall, was pretty dissillusioned by nBSG before Razor came out too, and I loved the movie. You should check it out, most definetly.Cpl Kendall wrote:Lets hope, haven't seen Razor yet though. Probably won't bother, I'm pretty turned off of neo-BSG at this point. How much religious BS is in it?

I like nBSG.
I think the show has a good mix of action and good stories.
I like the religious angle, because it reflects on today's society.
We see pragmatic, no-nonsense guys facing religious fervor, just as we can see it today when you look at the USA.
There are a lot of religious fanatics out there who act pretty much as was seen in nBSG, and they often clash with the "pragmatic", "socialist" people.
And the action and SFX are really cool.

It's too late. By toying, I meant being geeky about it. :)Cpl Kendall wrote:Save your money. Season 3 part 2 was indeed the poorest, after they departed from New Caprica, but compared to a lot of scifi, it still far above a lot of stuff.
Still, I haven't seen Razor, nor s4, and the authors admitted themselves they stretched the story with non essential stuff. Season 4 is closing all this anyway, and the small webisodes preceding Razor made me feel warm inside about a spinoff around the Cylon war.

I enjoyed nBSG Razors greatly. The story involves a number of flashbacks to events on the Pegasus (we get to see the incident between the Pegasus and the 15 ship civilian fleet that Admiral Cain screwed over) as well as the during the first Cylon war that are quite interesting. I especially loved the flashbacks to the first war with the Cylons since we get to see so many elements of the TOS BSG in it (i.e. original Cylon centurions; basestars; Raiders; Colonial uniforms, ect).

Do you honestly enjoy being proven a liar this easily? On this very board, in your last reply to me, you simultaneously blatantly ignored the numerically important part of my post(you know where I laid out the numbers showing that the activity of Sd.netters here is inconsequential in relation to the whole), threw out the sixty-six page thread that wasn't even started about here as evidence(ignoring that it represents a single bare percentage point of the posts made in that time period at most, and large portions of it were about the St.com debate anyway), and gloated about the admission that people at SD.net pick and choose the arguments they feel like addressing(while doing the same thing yourself, with extra dishonesty to add tanginess to the recipe).GStone wrote: We don't leave stuff out.
So yes, you do leave stuff out. Then you make claims that are rendered irrelevant at best by the stuff you left out. Then you project your behavior on those you debate and gloat about it.
* Cue inevitable accusation of misrepresentation*

You can hardly complain about SDN, or having false information used to justify dislike.Alyeska wrote:Dislike me all you want, but don't use false information to justify it.
(e.g. your false claim "DarkStar has the unique honor of being banned from both the official Star Trek and Star Wars forums" . . . neither is true.)

You want to know why I didn't say anything about it? Because I took what you said as the truth. That you weren't lying about it. So, excuse the fuck out of me for not commenting on every damned thing you type.consequences wrote:Do you honestly enjoy being proven a liar this easily? It was already brought up by you, meaning that it wasn't left out at all. It's relevence is in question to the initial issue, but it wasn't left out. So, what did you want? Applause for saying it at all?
It's relevence goes to the issue of bias and whether or not is happens at SDN and if it does, how does it happen.threw out the sixty-six page thread that wasn't even started about here as evidence(ignoring that it represents a single bare percentage point of the posts made in that time period at most, and large portions of it were about the St.com debate anyway)
Take the recent issue of the credentials of BHMM. The evidence provided was rolled around and around that they couldn't even get straight all the course requirements from his college, even when in possession of the link to the requirements and having the list provided.and gloated about the admission that people at SD.net pick and choose the arguments they feel like addressing
*Edit: They even stickied the thread, so it's easy to find.*
There would only be the tanginess if one isn't paying attention and gives you the benefit of the doubt. I did and you jumped on my back for it. Good show. Maybe I should learn the lesson now and not give you the benefit of the doubt in the future.(while doing the same thing yourself, with extra dishonesty to add tanginess to the recipe).
** And note that I am leaving out the rest of your post. Not because I am picking and choosing which arguments I want to talk about, but because the rest was rendered irrelevent to respond to because of what I said above. And this is the last time I will state this type of message for one of your posts.

I know this is going to seem like a stupid question, but as an outsider, I have to wonder where all this hostility came from in the first place? I was massively enjoying the comedic value of that wiki until I stumbled across the entry on JMS, and then that pretty much killed it for me. How can there be so much hostility between two sides of such a pointless and obviously 'for fun' debate?
Please don't flame me, it's an honest question. Being that I personally prefer Star Wars for entertainment value but find that I prefer the company of this side of the debate, (and I know there are Warsies on this forum but it would be difficult to argue that there are not more Trekkies) I find myself in an awkward position when I attempt to enjoy Mr. Wong's forum as it's full of hatred toward this one and toward Trekkies in general.
Also, are there other pro-Wars sites out there that are not so hostile?
