I only go on ST.com every once in a while, so I never saw this coming.

The future status is listed as unknown, but it would be absurd to close down the site. What will probably happen next is a new group taking over the same site, or else it'll be redesigned (since they just fired the dudes that know the code), but with much of the same stuff on it (possibly including some Trek '08 movie stuff, provided that Paramount wants that).
In lighter news, Grace Tejano is frickin' hot in that pic.

I'd bet on a new site on the same domain. The old one was very clunky, frankly, and never impressed me as particularly competently run. We shall see.
