Oh boy, that's inaccurate.
Okay, Kier, the guy who owns the site and uses it for a testbed for his new webboard program, is being sued by a company he formally worked for, which is what SB and a great deal of other sites use now. The lawsuit has been dealt on two levels, international and local I believe. One has already been thrown out and I think the other is too. It seems more of a case of a company trying to prevent a smaller company from instantly outdating their own software.
In regards to a lawsuit about the porn--I don't think that's correct. Or at least I haven't heard anything about it, so I'd have to ask Atom where he got that tidbit. There has been a heavy slap down on porn-like stories and such, so maybe that's it, but it would seem unlikely that someone would sue the site over porn. Even if it is degenerate.
The reason, I'm told, that the site has forced people to log in now is because the site, as we all know, was already under considerable strain. Apparently early this year, the traffic the forum has received has gone up, so the mods decided to restrict access in hopes of deterring people to keep the forum still working.
The reason they didn't go for a larger server I guess, is because the move is supposed to be relatively soon (this month or the next--no set date, but soon).
