Bravo Delta Zero? WTF?
A few days ago somone posted this new article to the Database. I'd heard rumors of such a thing by SDN and all, but never gave it much thought. Can anyone verify the information seen on the screencapture pic shown here?
Normally I'd post this in the Database forum, but since this is about SDN, I realized it could just as easily fit here as well.

Clicking your link I get an error message showing the image you cite no longer exists. Hope you copied it, because it's neither on that page nor in the Google cache anymore. Sort of like with the supposedly incriminating material from SWTC from some time ago.

Re: Bravo Delta Zero? WTF?
It basically says that there is a secret forum on SDN.
The truth of the article can not be verified, and it could easily be someone just dicking around.
Bravo Delta Zero
A secret subforum of Stardestroyer.net's forum formed to:
"Our mission is to covertly infiltrate the forums on theforce.net and starwars.com (which are watched by Lucasfilm's people) in order to counteract the vicious anti-Saxton pro-KJA/WEG brigade that is currently dominant there"

Re: Bravo Delta Zero? WTF?
For all that it matters, I saw the article when it first went up, and the link lead to a screenshot of what looked like an authentic SDN page. Hard to say. But then again, all you've got is my word. It probably got yanked after someone on SDN found out it'd been yanked, or Brunner was a troll playing a prank and made a fake page.

Damn. I knew something like this was going to happen. What Nowhereman says is right. It looked like a real SDN page. That's why I wanted to see if anyone knew anything.
As for the SWTC find, that has been archived by RSA as per the thread here.

Brunner, whoever that is, has reposted the screencapture image on another host site here. The article calls the site "Bravo Delta Zero", but the site image calls it "Bravo Delta Zulu".

it would be good to get screen caps of threads and discussions basically to prove it if not it could be BS

Re: Bravo Delta Zero? WTF?
Looks and smells valid to me, but unless there are a lot more recent members and/or evidence of recent posts to said hidden forum it is probably something rather old.
The concept that they would have a hidden forum for invasion of other forums is hardly shocking, especially with regard to keeping the Saxton-love and wank level high in the hopes of Lucas Licensing folks seeing it. Even moreso, especially given the Support Group stuff I mention on my site, which serves as a prior episode of similar "political action committee" behavior.

Not to mention the fact that SW.com's forums have gone down.

Re: Bravo Delta Zero? WTF?
But while SW.com is down for the count, TheForce.Net is still very much active, so that doesn't mean anything.Khas wrote:Not to mention the fact that SW.com's forums have gone down.
It's the whole possibility that this may have existed at one point that stinks. Given the names on the list (all real SDN member names) and the authentic look of the page itself, someone went through a lot of trouble, if this is a fake. If it's not a fake, then is this the result of hacking, like what Trollkingdom did all those years ago to out the SDN sockpuppet fiasco and board invasion plans, or is this from a disgruntled former member of that board and list?2046 wrote:Looks and smells valid to me, but unless there are a lot more recent members and/or evidence of recent posts to said hidden forum it is probably something rather old.

Re: Bravo Delta Zero? WTF?
It wouldn't be terribly difficult to edit the code of a page in one's own browser and then screenshot it. I know a 9-year old who knows how to edit the source of a page in-browser, and probably knows how to make a screenshot easily enough. One could therefore easily make it look like SFJ had a Saxton-stalking forum or somesuch.Mike DiCenso wrote:It's the whole possibility that this may have existed at one point that stinks. The thing is, though, that no one would go to a lot of trouble to make SDN look nefarious in this way because, well, that's just too easy, and there's "prior art" on the topic . . . you might as well try to fake documents to make Hitler out to be an anti-Semite.
My only thing is that the forum description writing style doesn't sound very Wong-like, but given that the leader of the group is Illuminatus Primus, that might imply that Wong didn't write it.
As for it stinking, it's not really a huge deal. Sure, maybe after the Climategate I and Climategate II e-mail releases I'm just a little deadened to such conspiratorial scheming, but compared to the old Support Group stuff (which I apparently failed to name properly by neglecting to call it Warsiegate or ICSgate or Saxtongate or something), not to mention the aforementioned SDNgate TrollKingdom incident, it just seems like small potatoes.
I would imagine it would have to be a disgruntled member of said list. I mean, sure, some of those old names are folks that were there from the beginning and may be long-since inactive, and a few simple tries of basic passwords might've gotten them in, but (a) I don't really see some TrollKingdom type being likely to try that again and only coming away with that, and only reporting it over here, and (b) they couldn't know what would be found, given that the existence of the sub-forum was itself secret. I, for one, wouldn't have wasted my time on such a pursuit, since even if I cracked some former notable SDN'er's password, I wouldn't have assumed I'd achieved access to anything more than their reputed hidden porn forum(s).If it's not a fake, then is this the result of hacking, like what Trollkingdom did all those years ago to out the SDN sockpuppet fiasco and board invasion plans, or is this from a disgruntled former member of that board and list?
As if I didn't already . . . p'shaw! ;-)BTW, you might want to archive that image.

Re: Bravo Delta Zero? WTF?
Well, as someone who posts on TK, I can tell you the basics of what happened. SDN did something that pissed off Troll Kingdom, the members of which then responded by hacking SDN and revealing secret admin-and-mod-only forums to the public, and also revealed that the Trekkies and trolls populating SDN were really just admin sockpuppets. The thing is, however, this wasn't really a hard thing for the TKers to do. It wasn't anywhere close to a concerted effort.

Re: Bravo Delta Zero? WTF?
Khas' summary there of the dirt pretty much says everything. You can look through the TK forum thread here. Unfortunately the site that was hosting the screencaptures of the SDN pages are long gone, but you can get a good gist of what was there by people's commentaries. Among other things, SDN was actively identifying "threats" to it's board and organizing attempted counter attacks and infiltrations of other boards. Not that it really worked in the the TK case.

Re: Bravo Delta Zero? WTF?
They weren't screencaps . . . they were HTML saves of the moderator forum, over 300 of them. You don't get working links, of course, but you do get the index pages and the specific threads. It's old stuff now, but still has gems like the "Operation Left Hook" thread from 2003, discussing board invasion tactics:
There are also multiple threads discussing mods and their trolling sockpuppets. This is a copy of the message posted in the AIIF.
TrekBBS: Operation Left Hook
Okay it's a corney name but they never see it coming.
It is appearant that the trekkies of the TrekBBS have declared war upon us by using a proxy board aka TrollKingdom. I would personally like to return the favor of spamming their boards with complate gibberish and then go crowing about it to everyone. They might have gotten the jump on us, but they'll soon learn how badly they miscalculated our willingness to kickass.
I should point out that I only want to seek revenge on those that organized this assulat on us or allowed it to happen by looking the other way. Innocent trekkies should be left alone, after all, stupidy tends to exact it's own punishment.
First off we need to get organized. Fortunately we already have a secure staging area with the AIIF forum. We will need a base commander here to keep an eye on the trektards that continue to enter into our board, and use what they so foolishly divulge to help identify who they really are both in the TrollKingdom and at the TrekBBS.
Second we need a team of people that will infiltrate the TrollKingdom board, gather information, and prepare the way for the main assualt. This team will have a leader to whom all the team members will report to. Once again these team members will be seaking out the leaders and members that attacked our forum, seeking to reviel their true identities on the TrekBBS, and getting into said members confidances. Once the troops rollin in a few monthes these "loyal" trolls will foment rebellion within the trolls own ranks, spread misinformation, creating chaos and disorder and reporting to us their inside plans.
Third we need a team to enter into the TrekBBS and perform the same operations. You might be suprised how willing a person will be to confide in a complete stranger. When me, GAT, and crew messed around with the general populace by creating several fake trekkie identities, I had real trekkies sending me pms.
Remember never to mention the SD.Net, and to keep in contact with your team leaders, reporting the location of threads and other conversations they might miss so they can reported back here. Also you cannot be on a team if you already are registered and posting at the other forums, becuase your identity will be reveiled as soon as a mod does an ip check.
Operation Left Hook is now recruiting
