What can you tell me about the great SB/SD war?

I heard that there was a terrible war between the boards of Spacebattles.com and Stardestroyer.net and a few other web forums a long time ago and I want to know what was that war like there? What are some of the details about the conflict?

i have always thought it would be rude and irritating to beg for that kind of thing, but i would also be EXTREMELY INTERESTED in any stories about what happened before i showed up. not that anyone's obligated or anything, but if someone is going to ask, i'll definitely back up that curiosity with my own. i've read everything i could find so far as debates between the larger personalities and kind of hit a brick wall where all that's left is little tidbits where someone mentions something but noone kept a record or anything. so if anyone has the time and inclination, there is definitely an audience for anything like this.

It most likely dates back to the time when SB.com was in its infancy and ruled by Trekkies, as I get it. But the overall mediocrity of their positions, logic and incapacity to see through Wong's lies made them lose their strength and SB.com progressively shifted.
You probably won't be able to talk about those tensions without paying some attention to what took place on ASVS first, without going into too many details.

it was hardly ancient it seemed to have started in 01 and then migrated to other forums and it didn't end until about 07 and I'm proud to say I think I participated in one of the last battles of that..'multi forum cluster fuck"

Well I can't talk about SB but if you want to know the history of that wars other forum conflicts I'll tell you about it! I do know that CrossoverManiac and GStone (who I believe posted on CBR as well I some what remember him from my newbish days) had various debates with wong and SDN in general over on SDN and SB which culminated in three infamous threads that created SDN's 'convert the idiots" policy...which culminated in Wong launching a huge ass invasion of..the older Comic and anime vs debating world

essentially what happened was a few SDN regulars had been vets on CBR through them many SDN'ers joined rumbles also a place called KMC and another place called SHC those three forums (CBr SHC and KMC) had been enemies and hotly contested various issues...and what ever but the point is through those regulars who posted on all those boards SDN gradually started finding other fictions that could beat up wars..and naturally your typical SDN rage responses would follow. Well one day some one named vcreed or ChuckG created a thread called "Godzilla vs Curoscant" which involved a bunch of SDN'ers trying and failing catastrophically to prove imperial capital could handle Godzilla (really they can't honestly) which resulted in them raging to Wong, Wong then argued that while there are retards on that board it wasn't the worse thing out there as that would be any place DS posts on..and what ever

Spacebattles at the time was slowly becoming more pro-Wong so allot of their effort went to other forums, SB'ers who disagreed with Wongs way of thinking many of them joined CBR it got intense which culminated in a thread regarding the Borg vs the TF and a few hundred TIE fighters vs the USS Defiant, these threads resulted in allot of their EU crap being debunked a wide scale rejection of the ICS and numerous posters basically telling SDn'ers they thought Wong was a liar a fraud and a crazy person. Wong responded by declaring war on comic boards. Which resulted in hilarious threads like Galactus vs the Empire and the like which got linked up on CBR and SHC by SB'ers who lurked on SDN, the posters on CBR and SHC mocked and made fun of wong and pretty much just treated him and his site like crazy fringe people, which Wong didn't take well and he launched a huge ass board war against those three forums SHC and CBR ended up allies KMC was neutral or sided with SDN

it was pretty terrible I spent two years dealing with that garbage it was distracting and stressful imagine if you will dealing with about 25 SWST style debaters at the same time alone in a thread when all your back up is either asleep or in school- well this happened allot.

it kinda ended in 2007 when SHC and CBR basically just started mass banning and persecutions against SDN members with the mods making rules specifically designed to limit what was allowed to be used for star wars- I'm not sure if we came out looking like the good guys or bigger douchebags then SDN considering how harshly the average Rumbler treats posters from SDN and their vassal forums like Spacebattles is pretty negative but all the same.

it was messy, there were server crashes possible hacks literally hundreds of bans year long thread moratoriums..and multiple invasions of SB and SDN and their incursions

so that's the side conflict really SB was the main focus and we just got swept into it and it raged from 2003/2004- January 07

then there was peace and rest and nothing really insane happened until about 2009 when the Phenom Brigade launched a mass invasion of SDN which is more hilarious

I'll tell you about that if you want to risk getting a migraine from all the fail and stupid that was that board war.

they're a group of teen aged Dragon Ballz fanboys lead by four brothers from a trailer park in Mississippi and their 'general" is a Canadian amateur rapper who spends time in mental hospitals for treatment of bipolar disorder and some other stuff..no seriously this is an actual group the rest of the members have varied over the years but they're about twenty in total some leave because they can't stand the BS and others get arrested in RL for putting child porn on forums after Superman beats Goku (yes this happened)

the leader of the group calls himself the phenomenol" (yeah spelled with those typos) or "The Anointed' and he either tries to adopt a refined eloquent sophisticated poster personality or he comes off like SWST if was an evangelical preacher (seriously in one thread against us he broke off into "AND MY BROTHERS LET US FORGIVE THESE BLASPHEMERS THEIR SINS THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW THE LIGHT OF GOKU!!" and other such crazyness) AND TEH SUPERSAIYAN SHALL DESCEND FROM THE HEAVENS TO POUND THE MIGHTY LORD OF THE SITH!! let us pray brothers..that he saved through the lord and savior mighty SSJ's compassion

well your typical SDN thread happened some one put Darth Vader against Goku as a super saiyan and the general consensus was "vader can force choke him to death"

so one of their members a guy called GrandMaster SeXy (seriously here) saw this lurking and reported it to his preacher/master..and they promptly invaded to what ever enlighten the heretics convert them if you will

so for the first time ever in their forums history SDn found itself facing another fan based religion group and one that was much like their own only profoundly more inbred stupid and crazy oh..and a few members were known for posting while high on cocaine during the height of the brigades war on vs debating which brought much lulzs.

SDn underestimated them though the brigade had been since 06 making war on every single god damn vs debate forum that wasn't sci fi..online the five or six most influential vs debate boards minus SB and SDN? yeah we barely managed to get these maniacs out of here...so these guys I'm thinking really had no idea what was going to happen

what followed was..SDN hive mind and flame oriented debating vs complete juvenile blind biased backed up by a man who calls himself the phenomenol (yes with typos) pope of the holy church of the super saiyans and his demented cadre

I didn't get to see the war but I know in one thread the words "GALAXY WIDE FORCE STORM" and "n0oB GOKU HAS PHENOMONOLLLL!!!!! COSMIC POWERZZZZZZ" was tossed around by both sides in what must of been the single most humiliating moment for any SW fan

much drugs and mental illness later they got destroyed and thrown out of SDN and went around claiming the site was responsible for the mental breakdown of their 'genera' and the suicide of several of his younger members and the abuse and violent stalking of one of his brothers all this was proven to be a massive lie mind you


but between this bullshit and 4chan I can see why Wong pretty much told every one "no more invasions this shits just getting stupid now"
