hi

I was wondering what other boards people post on ? I haven't been posting on boards like this for very often but there are a few similar around and i'm wondering if people have others they spend time on and what they think are good and bad points

I read the stardestroyer.net forums but i don't realyl think its a place I'd want to post
I sometimes post stuff on spacebattles.com and i started off posting there
I have just started posting here and i googled it after is was mentioned
i followed a link from spacebattles to a place called clubasvs but it is also a place I would not want to spend much time

my name is zarek on sb so this is also a bit of an introduction thread if thats okay.

Welcome to SFJN, Zarek. While other members here do post elsewhere, like SB.com, I myself chose not to for the time being, though I have done a bit of "rebel" editing of articles on SDN's own wiki from time-to-time. Why? Simply put I do not have the time to waste dealing with boards whose admins and mods restrict any debate that goes against their ridged religous-like dogma. Here at SFJN and ASVS, there is at least open discussion, however ASVS seems to have sunk into a state of "Bash Jason" posting that really gets a bit tiresome, hence I see no reason to go there for the time being.

As Mike said, SFJ and ASVS are two boards who encourage free speach and debate.
While ASVS has indeed slowed down and may have started "bashing" Jason, this is only because Jason keeps posting and posting and posting things that make no sense, and he posts in every thread.
But you do not have to acknowledge him if you don't want to, and if you find threads that interest you here and at ASVS, I suggest you register and post.
Intelligent debate is welcomed and encouraged...

Yeah, but I don't use it because, once in a blue moon, Jason actually posts something that makes you go "Hhhmmm"...

Like I'd care. Especially if there were many other members whose posts made me go "hhhmmm" as well.

Honestly Jason's occasional quasi-intelligent posting is not worth it. And I'm still not completely convinced that he's a real person, either.

I post here, and on ASVS, Galaxy Zoo, and StarCraft Legacy.

Here and on ASVS, I'm Khas. On Galaxy Zoo, I'm Xander and Xander2 (Had to get a new account after old email address died), and on StarCraft Legacy, I'm Hellgrinder.

I post here and on spacebattles (well, these days anyway).

I'm not interested in making one side win all the fights or even who wins in the end, I'm mostly interested in keeping a realistic view on ST abilities.

I.E. I detest people who keep shouting '400GW shields, 100KT torpedoes, no yield improvements between series ever, Borg cubes can be destroyed by a couple of photons LOL', hapilly ignoring every higher showing and hapilly ignoring that said yields/statements make very little sense considering the rest of the ST canon.

In terms of versus debates, I post here, on Spacebattles, and on the CBR (Comic Cook Resources) forums.

DITL, here, SDN. I don't really do VS debates anymore though, waste of time. DITL has a ban on them anyways.

Just an FYI for those of you put off by the "Jason bashing" at ASVS, Jason hasn't been around for a while. Who knows why, but he hasn't even logged in for over a month.

I supported jason and got the "lackey" award, even though i was the only one not following the trend.....

Still its a good board.

Perhaps he was tired?
