It seems that Poe relies on a more scientific approach and, in the end, is encouraged to point out how "it does not make sense", something I also find myself pointing out quite a many times, although as a warsie back then, he exploited such observations as perhaps cheap attacks against Trek, but that's the game.
Was there anything wrong with Poe's arguments?

Plenty is wrong with Wayne's arguements, that's the whole point behind RedwoodTheElf's
videos. He's predicating his arguements on a false presentation of the source content and context. Even if what he presented was proper logical syllogism, their conclusions still cannot stand up to scrutiny because the evidence it is based on is a lie.

The scientific method, as far as I know, does not allow one to ignore stated facts in a Sci-Fi show because it would be "scientifically impossible"...
If it's stated or shown in the show, then it simply is.
Or else, applying the same reasoning to any Sci-Fi show, Lightsabres cannot exist, Go'Aulds aren't possible, and stargates are an impossibility...
And it's not called Science-Fiction for nothing... :)

Here's the wikipedia article of the Scientific Method. If anything, Wayne's application of it is almost completely wrong. Most in particular, look down at the section on Truth and belief, and apply what it has to say to the current situation with Wayne and the Versus debates in general.
"I don't want to believe X happened, because it's scientifically impossible.", is not proper scientific methodology.

You can only apply the Scientific Method (SM) if you assume the fictional universe and its rules are perfect, in that you negate the existence of the writers, producers, and the very fictional nature of the show and its universe, and dismiss the possibility of errors, because refusing the SM in our reality would be akin to say that if there's something that happens which we can't explain and doesn't fit with our science, then the universe is wrong, and perhaps didn't even happen, which is a strong case of pseudo-solipsism, if not plain delirium. :)
That said, what do you think of the arguments themselves, and not the methods?

And that's why total, literal SOD doesn't work, since by it's nature any movie or TV franchise or what-have-you media will likely have some issue regarding continuity.
