Thomas's Star Trek Webpage

Post by Mike DiCenso » Tue Sep 08, 2009 8:40 pm

I found this little blast from the past. A fun parody website put up by the author comparing Star Trek to Star Wars, but taking Trek's side by wanking it's tech up in a manner similar to Wong's SDN and Saxton's SW:Technical Commentaries websites. Among other Saxtonite-esque methods, he routinely pulls information from the ST EU and extrapolates the most advantageous interpretations, and visual FX interpretations that scale the Sovereign class E-E to near Super Star Destroyer sizes!

That page is insanely funny :)

I especially love his 'reasonable' numbers for shield strengths and how he -like certrain SW sites- twists the onscreen stuff around until it fits his preconceived levels of power.

Yes, but remember what you are seeing on his website is simple satire. But this is as close to GalaxyClassStarship.Net as we're likely to ever see.

Indeed, same style, without the seriousness.

Or the viciousness prevalent in a certain other website.

Was this the first parody of it? I thought it was another. Or maybe I'm thinking of the pics Darkstar posted about of someone putting a GSC in place of the falcon entering the DS shuttle bay.

There is one out there similar to this one that is, the link is on DITL, hell it might even be this one. I just have to find it.

But, uh yeah. If it isn't then someone has his hand really far down his pants. A 16.7 km Sovereign, right. That's what, almost the height of the Earth Starbase?

Yes, Thomas's webpage speaks for itself. In addition to the goofy outlandish Star Trek ship sizes and woefully underpowered Star Wars ships there is the fact that it was made as a school project should be a clue.
