I thought this was somewhat funny, and had an interesting point about why the Empire fell. I may be reading too much into the blog post, but it seems like that author is saying the Empire cared to much about style, and not enough about substance.

It's a cute idea... until you realize that he's completely wrong. The uniforms are trivial as far as the cost of something like a Death Star is concerned. Not to mention we know from TPM and the Clone Wars series that the basis for the Imperial uniforms are the Republic navy ones, which are nearly indistinguishable at first glance.

Where the prioritization issue comes up is in that they wasted so much effort and resources on building the Death Star in the first place instead of a massive fleet of 60 million ISD-sized starships.

It is questionable they could have built so many. If main cost of ship is its reactor, as it seems it is in UFP, then Death Star could be cheaper than simple size ratio would suggest, if its reactor is not as large relative to its size as ISD's.
