Solo - A Star Wars Story

I have to admit I haven't been keeping much track of Star Wars lately, but the most recent trailer for the upcoming Han Solo spin off managed to catch my eye this time. I'm not ready to get optimistic yet, but parts did look interesting. I remember when the spin off stories were first announced I thought Star Wars would make a nice background for a caper film. The casino city of Canto Bight seemed like a waste to me for what could have been a fun Ocean's Eleven type film, but the train robbery teased here could provide good material for a fun sci-fi heist flick. There was also a scene featuring a Star Destroyer under construction, possibly giving us our first look at Corella which I've been wanting to see for a long time. Despite the negative air hovering around this movie, and the excessive speed with which Disney is cranking new SW films out, this looks like it might be a fun movie.

The big thing going around in most circles is the "new" old version of the Millennium Falcon which not only has what appears to be a small shuttle filling in the gap between the mandibles, but if the Hasbro toy of this version of the ship is based on anything, the ship once had smooth outer cladding panels ala what has been shown with the Y-wings in TCW. It seems that at some point those panels will be lost, along with the shuttle, giving the ship its iconic look.
