New Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen (Spoiler alert)...

Post by Praeothmin » Fri Jul 03, 2009 1:02 pm

I saw the movie last Monday, and I liked most of it (mainly the parts where there were no humans other then soldiers)...

My gripes with this movie are the same as in the first one (though less of them):
I still cannot stand the main character.
He's an imbecile, a loser, with loser parents.
The humor isn't funny, and it's actually reminiscent of a bad American Pie movie.

Yes, Jetfire is an old Transformer, but did we need to see him with a cane?
He's an old "machine", for crying out loud, they didn't need to make him so "human"...

The good parts are plentyful:
-Optimus Prime kicks some serious a**, even at 3 against 1 odds. It it wasn't for "Twit-wickey", he could've won too...
-Bumblebee, the new and improved him, is a seriously bad MoFo. He actually rips out the "spinal cord" of one Decepticon in a fight. He should be called Preda-bumblebee...
-Robots fighting = Full of Win... :)
-The human Marines: honourable, courageous, ready to fight to the end to protect what they believe in even if they know they don't stand much of a chance...

Don't go in expecting a great movie with amoving plot and an intelligent story.
There is some definite potential, but the story could have done with less adolescent humor and a quicker pacing...
Still, if only for the Special FX, go see it in a Theater...

For a second I thought you meant Optimus Prime :) The logical choice in a movie about giant robots fighting each other but you meant spike and I couldn't agree more with you.

Are you out of your mind??????
Optimus "Same voice actor as in the animation" Prime?
He was THE saving grace of the movie.
When he... isn't there for a while, the movie starts trudging along... :)

Shouldn't this be in the reviews forum?

It can be moved there, I suppose. Would fit better there.
