Worf vs. Guts

Post by Khas » Wed Jul 17, 2013 12:13 am

Worf will have a sword-only fight against Guts from the anime Berserk. This is Pre-Eclipse Guts during the Golden Age arc, so he doesn't have the cannon-hand with mounted crossbow, and he still has both eyes.

How does this go?

Huh, that's still too generalized an OP. At what point during the Golden Age arc does Guts come from? Before or after he joined the Band of the Hawk? Before or after Albion? Before or After he left Griffith? Is he right before the Eclipse?

At what point in his life is Worf from? TNG first season? Later TNG? Deep Space Nine? All of these have major impacts how the fight goes. For instance, Worf from his DS9 days could quite conceivably defeat a teenage, pre-Band of Hawks Guts, and Guts just prior to the God Hand Eclipse could probably easily defeat Worf from his TNG season one days.

We'll say it's Worf from DS9 Season 7, and Guts just after he left the Band of the Hawk.

In open field, the advantage would be Guts as his sword, though it is not the Dragon Slayer, still has rather impressive reach and strength, and Guts demonstrated a fair amount of speed while weilding it. But if Worf can follow Serpico's example, lure Guts to a narrow cliffside trail, or into a room with columns, or an area with lots of rock outcrops, where Guts cannot swing his sword very easily and risks damaging it, he might be able to win, since he has strength, endurance, and speed well above normal humans to match Guts, plus his Bat'leth is ideal for fighting close quarters in places like that.
