The Minbari in Firefly
During the Earth-Minbari War, the Minbari fleet that surrounds Earth suddenly disappears, only to re-appear in the Firefly 'verse, without the ability to go to hyperspace. Upon learning that the dominant species in this system is humanity, they attack. How does this go?

Re: The Minbari in Firefly
Can they even get anywhere without their hyperdrives? Firefly verse does near light speed since they cruise around casually from planet to planet in the 'insaneosystem' that is their solar system... but I don't think the Minbari have the capability to go nearly as fast.
That said: Their numbers MIGHT be able to give them a foothold if they drop near one of the more resource filled systems... as far as power projection goes though, they'd have a long wait... and there is a chance that the humans will just come after them during this time. The alliance weren't pushovers, and had fairly decently sized ships and at least equivalent to modern day weapons (as well as directed energy hand held lasers).

Re: The Minbari in Firefly
Well, actually I would disagree with that. First off, the Alliance ships may be big, but that does not necessarily translate into awesome firepower for anything other than against other spaceships in the Firefly setting. Have we actually seen the Alliance ships or any other ship in Firefly fire on something we can readily quantify? With the Minbari Sharlins and other vessels we do have good upper and lower limits on their firepower.
Furthermore, the Minbari will still have the huge advantage of their ships having stealth, and aiming at the Minbari ships may well be as difficult as it is in the B5-verse. Plus the Minbari forces have fighter craft that are fairly powerful and nimble for their size that they can use to spam the big Alliance ships with.
As for sublight speeds, the Minbari ships seemed to be able to achieve decent fractions of c when the need arose. The Firefly and other ships seemed to require days, sometimes weeks to get anywhere in that one localized star system, and we have no idea exactly what the distances involved were, either. At best we can say the two forces are on a roughl parity when it comes to raw acceleration.

Re: The Minbari in Firefly
Well, Firefly's system does have 5 stars, each with their own planets:
As for firepower, the only things I can remember seeing Alliance ships fire on are Reaver ships.
