The Humankind Empire Abh in the trek galaxy
1, their territory replaced Borg space during the Dominion war
2, their territory appears deep in the AQ almost bordering the GQ circa the events of Nemesis
in both cases they send out envoys to explore the region.
How do things go? How does it look if they run into the UFP..what happens if they try and enforce their monopoly on space travel? if war comes what happens?

Re: The Humankind Empire Abh in the trek galaxy
The Abh will have a huge "culture shock" situation first and foremost to deal with. Once they realize that they are no longer in a universe where there are only Humans (the Abh are genetically engineered Humans after all), they will have to deal with countless thousands of space faring civilizations. Many of which use technologies unlike anything the Abh or the United Mankind could dream of. And if they try to press their luck and enforce a stupid space monopoly policy, they'll have to do so against super-advanced races, like the Voth.
The same thing against the Alpha and Beta quadrants. The only thing that'll prevent them from being stomped is their huge fleets of ships and not being tied down to a specific "homeworld". So the Abh's best bet is to keep a low profile, send out envoys, and try as hard as hell to make as many allies as possible.

I'm curious about how the Abh will react to the UFP's prejudice against geneticaugmentation and visa versa
will they see the Abh as essentially a continuation of Khans policies and made have a sort of cultural mandate to be hostile?

That would just be the ultimate proof that genetically engineered beings like that go around suppressing and killing those not so blessed, and what would have happened had Khan and his followers not been defeated during Earth's Eugenics War centuries before.

that's what I thought..so I'm assuming a butlerian Jihad scenario against the Abh? or no?Mike DiCenso wrote:That would just be the ultimate proof that genetically engineered beings like that go around suppressing and killing those not so blessed, and what would have happened had Khan and his followers not been defeated during Earth's Eugenics War centuries before.

Re: The Humankind Empire Abh in the trek galaxy
The Federation will do no such thing as declaring a fanatical jihad against someone goes completely against everything it values in it's society and policy. Of course if the Abh piss around with the Federation too much, they'll likely get the Section 31 treatment just like the Dominion Founders did.
Speaking of which, the Dominion won't tolerate the Abh poking around their territory any more than it did the Federation, and that empire has enough resources and the will to curbstomp the Abh mercilessly. Not to mention phased polaron beam weapons will probably go right through the Abh ships' shields with ease, and the Dominion super ranged transporters can put Jem'Hadar troops right inside major Abh installations.
Another power to consider; the Krenim has the technology and will to wipe the Abh out of existence with their temporal weapons, and it's highly unlikely that the primitive electromagnetic shields of the Abh ships can be modified to stop the chroniton torpedoes the way that Voyager's were.
Oh, and the Abh can't go around messing with those all-powerful nigh-omnipotent and omniscient beings, like the Q, either.

I was under the impression only Annorax had the sufficiently potent Time tech?

At the very least the Krenim will have chroniton torpedoes. Those exist in the their arsenal regardless of whether or not the time ship and temporal weapon do. Also, the end of "Year of Hell, Part 2" suggests that Annorax's time ship will exist at some point. Either way, the original or the altered timeline, the Abh will have to deal with a very dangerous opponent unlike anything they've encountered before.

one that had double the UFP's territory if not as many planetsMike DiCenso wrote:At the very least the Krenim will have chroniton torpedoes. Brannon Braga, of course, who thinks it's a clever reference to one of the main characters (Prof. Pierre M. Aronnax) from Jules Verne's "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea".

Whatever you think of a character's name, the fact remains that the Krenim have access to some powerful temporal tech, and are a serious threat to the transplanted Abh.
