Is there any faction that can be set up against STO UFP without fight being curbstomp for either side?

The factions in Starcraft would be comparable depending on various circumstances.

Why? Granted Starcraft has some powerful stuff, but why would that make a difference?

Well for different reasons really. The Zerg have hilariously massive numbers, are extremely virulent, and are highly adaptable. The Terrans have weaksauce ships, but large nukes and a massive fleet. The Protoss have massive firepower and have good stealth capabilities. Kind of like the Klingons on steroids really.

I think Trek would probably still win, although it couldn't be described as a 'curbstomp' for the most part.
