stargate vs combo

Post by Kor_Dahar_Master » Fri Jul 22, 2011 8:55 pm

Ok so for shits and giggles Q decides that ascended beings in the SG universe are boring so he chooses to interfere with the mortal races and create a super infantry soldier by combining all available mortal stargate tech including bio abilities.

What tech would he use and what soldiers from other franchises could beat them.

I would start with a guy with wraith and nanite healing along with ancient TP/TK abilities wearing a Kull/Asgard power armor como topped with the ancient personal shield and the cloaking tech from the jumpers, the time dilation device and to top it off with the ancients mini drone weapons (assuming they have the same abilities like to penetrate shields ect as the large ones)…..

So who could defeat infantry like that (no gods/robs allowed and assume equal numbers be it 1 v 1 or 1,000,000 vs 1,000,000).

It is hard to accept the superpowers since any human who has displayed them was close to some natural ascension, and the greatest power bearing mortals once were ascended beings.

However, we can focus on the pure technological aspect of it.

Obvious candidates are the Kull warrior suit, which is just bonkers.
You can add Niirti's cloak which allowed her to use her karakesh.
Of course, so we will add the karakesh.
Mix it to the Vanir suit (which is of obvious Lantean design). That suit allowed the Vanir to make landfall while being dropped a hundreds meters above a tower, from their ship. They allowed them to slam through buildings unscathed. Add the wrist shield, which is a very good addition to the karakesh. The karakesh has its own shield, but you can't use much while it's erected, safe if you have the Osiris variant, which allows movement and the use of energy weapons. If you can't have that one, then the wrist shield should allow the other hand to be used to hold a weapon. The Vanir suit has a self destruct integrated to it if someone tries to reach inside by cutting through it (doesn't get triggered by bullets though).
It also had the advantage of coming with a full sensor array.

The portable Lantean shield could be a good thing in case something fails, as it can easily be used by anyone without wearing any armour. A mere mask should do the job for filtering particles. But you'd need something understanding how to disconnect it. It protects against gunfire, falls from something like five or six meters and any fluid denser than air. You can't be punched either, it will cope with momentum.

Add the Tolan phase system that allows to walk through walls.

For weapons, we already have the karakesh, as I said.
We've seen bounty hunters use some in late SG-1. They have a scope and are obviously meant to be effective in terms of accuracy.

The mini-drone could be weaponized as long as one would carry a backpack I guess. You could probably cram like two dozens of them very easily in some small backpack. Those things would obviously have the properties of their bigger cousin, but with some lesser yield and range, perhaps. Still plenty enough for some megajoule death through walls and hyper-maneuvering.

We've seen that you can control a drone with a mere laptop, so no doubt that you could eventually have a typical drone launching system. Now, those things are quite big, so I figure that you could only carry one on your back, but that would make for an awesome bazooka system, with yields up in the two digits gigajoule range, and the capacity to get through any known type of armour and shields.
We will also add a zat gun for good measure, but redesign it so it really handles like an efficient handgun. Perhaps allow for a supercharge function so you can immediately go for kill or even disintegration.

We'll add the ring weapons which can fire beams of energy that can go through several people. Such a device comes with a suicide mode that disintegrates you as well in some explosive/NDF way.

The Kull's wrist guns will be a good thing for barrage fire.
We've seen a couple of frag grenades though. You probably want something quite classical there. We have seen any fancy grenade thus far, to the point that even an US army frag grenade would be a good candidate.

Let's take a few pills of naqahdah. We know that it can used to enhance explosions chemically (seen in the bomb planted by Niirti in Cassandra's chest, or the explosives used to damage Thor's Biliksner-class warship). That should give you enough kilotons in case you need some tactical action.
Technically, based on my calculations, a french fry sized piece of refined naqahdah would allow you to build multi-megaton weapons. So that's if you need something less "tactical".

For more exotic devices, you can take with you those two stun sticks that Todd used. They're very useful, as they can stun a small room.
That said, in the stun department, the Goa'uld shock grenades are awesome. The one we saw used in early SG-1 stunned the Jaffa of a cavernous Death Glider bay. The range is quite mad.

Perhaps cram a TER somewhere there so as to be able to shoot down cloaked/phased beings.

Let's say that you can also pick a Lantean console (the thing regularly used in the show) and mix it with a Kino, so you get a very capable recon drone, albeit slow. The Kino is a but cumbersome, but it's just like a large grenade and not heavy. It's not much of a problem with those suits anyway.

There are plenty of other small devices used during the show's run which would be good additions, depending on the mission. For a very brief attack, you could use those Atoniek forearm thingies that provide with hyper stamina, resistance and mad speed and reflexes, but the effect wear off after some time.
You would probably want to carry a Goa'uld healing device, just in case. It's not big.
Goa'uld tech will often require that you have naqahdah in your blood, but it's not much of a problem.

Of course, if you have a symbiote, you'll be a brute anyway. You could in theory solo a whole base and rest a while somewhere to repair any damage. You'd be extremely resistant to poisoning.

---

Now, against such a thing... 1 on 1...
I'm not sure what to go with. Obviously you'll have to aim for something like Hyperion's FORCE suits -which may very well not suffice at all- or anything above that extends to the future-humans silver suits or the Shrike system.
Perhaps the Culture or the Xelee have something that's good enough on the ground.
You'll obviously go looking for Doctor Who, minus the time travel capabilities.

In Star Trek and Star Wars, I've not seen anything that capable. The mix Kull+Vanir suit with shields is just making any soldier like an über-tank who can laugh at NDF effects and mejouale explosions in your face, with a high tolerance regarding momentum.
Actually the Kull warrior is so tough that even a localized nuclear blast would barely crack it.

So much that it would probably take a Predator's self destruct to finish one at ground zero.

In Warhammer 40000 there's probably a good variety of suits and creatures that would be very good enemies of such a being, although I'm sure you'd have to look for the Princes of that, Lord of this and Emperor of something.
Yet all of them would be at pain against the mini-squids.
