I guess the ions in that one are really big as well. :DILikeDeathNote wrote:Yeah I would say that the Stargate Ion Cannon is just a big-ass particle cannon of some type, that probably spews a bunch of ions.
That's probably why they call it an Ion Cannon ;)
Why Ion cannons in Star Wars and Stargate recoil?

In a good number of places, but you need special glasses to see them. Sometimes, an ion can be as big as a basket ball, and is called an ion ball, or an ion cannon ball. Such ions are very dangerous but occur rarely.PunkMaister wrote:Umm... Have you? I was under the impression that an "ion" was just an atom that was stripped of its outer shell electrons or "valence" electrons, and thus either it would be a really big-ass atom or a whole buttload of atoms :)Mr. Oragahn wrote:In a good number of places, but you need special glasses to see them. These big ass atoms look like Skittles. This is the exceptionally huge ions. They're so heavy that even if I were to throw one, I'd recoil. Of course I can't, because they are ions after all.ILikeDeathNote wrote:I was under the impression that an "ion" was just an atom that was stripped of its outer shell electrons or "valence" electrons, and thus either it would be a really big-ass atom or a whole buttload of atoms :)Mr. Oragahn wrote:In a good number of places, but you need special glasses to see them.
