FPE's would be "Cruel Angel's Thesis", the opening to Neon Genesis Evangelion (well, it IS an Evangelion fanfic, so no surprise there)

I would go with that one...I could see the credits rolling with the end part featuring a close up of all the chess masters sitting over a multi dimensional multi player chess set

with "guest starring Corben Bernsen as Q" "Jeremy Irons as Grand Admiral Thrawn" "Kit Harrington as Alexander" "Lou Reed as Dartanis" and last right when the music hits its climax

"Fred Rogers as V'i'retess"

because honestly I can't think of anyone else...for the old bastard but Mr Rogers.

For some reason I see Wishmaster from nightwish as a good theme for Krevin and co

and Rock you like a Hurricane for the theme of Riddick and James
