Attack of the Cardassians

Post by sonofccn » Sun Sep 10, 2006 2:57 am

Since no one has yet posted any stories I felt like someone should. Here is something I wrote on the spot. If you like it good, if it's pure garbage well sorry in advance for wasting your time.

Commanders Log:
Our shakedown cruise of the RSS Indomitable, a Venator class starship, has been diverted towards a minor outer rim system under Separatist attack. The transmission we recieved was badly garbled, but the planatry govenor indicated only a single enemy warship. Shortly after that we lost the signal and haven't been able to locate it again. For the record I have reservations about charging foolishly into battle like this. It isn't the clones, all of them are battle hardern veterans, and I trust them to do thier duty to thier fullest ability. Nor is it the human part of the crew, thier as well trained for thier duties as is humanly possible, and what they lack in experiance they make up for in spirit. It's just that I dislike putting my faith in an unweathered ship. Everyship has it's own personalities and quirks. Some good, some bad. Being forced to go into combat without knowing and understanding them sends a shiver down my spine. Still as the closet vessel and as a Republic officer it is my duty to render aid. I just hope our actions bring honor and glory to the Republic, not shame and defeat.
End Commander's Log

Commander Dolrian twisted in his command seat and glanced over at the navigator.
"What is our ETA LT.....Uh"He started as he tried to remember the man's name.
Dolrian could just imagine all of the non-cloned human crew eye's staring at him as he sat thier, his mouth gaping open as he racked his brain for the answer. It was a simple thing, something a good commander should know, but the name eluded him. to be fair there were over seven thousand personel on board, and it was a new crew, having been serving togather for half a week. Still he felt he should know the primary bridge crew by now. Finaly after a few very long seconds the navigator replied.

"Antellies sir. As to our ETA we're still five minutes away."

"Good Lieutenant. Arm all weapons and raise shields to maximum. I want to go in blazing."

"Yes sir." Replied the weapon's officer

Dorlian opened the com to the hanger bay.

"bay, what is your status?"He inquired.
" We have three squadrons, two V-wings one ARC, prepped and waiting for your order." The voice through the speaker answered.

"Okay, for now stay on standby status. We don't know what the Separatist have yet. So thier's no point launching fighers."

"Confirmed"The voice replied.

Dorlian quickly cut the line and turned his attencian back to the streaking space. Staring at the realm of hyperspace as if willing it to go even faster. As much as he had concerns about going into battle, he down right detested the wait before. He had already nearly driven his crew insane by ordering system wide diagnostics every fifteen minutes during thier two hour journey to the system. Everything had checked out fine, but that didn't stop him from demanding that it be checked and rechecked for fear that some minior defect had been overlooked and that it would spell doom for his ship and crew. Soon however the battle would come, and his crew would get to do thier duty as they had been trained to do.

"About to drop out of hyperspace. In three...two...one, dropping!" Stated the navigator.
Rapidly the streaking light was replaced with a deslote, nearly barren system. A place dorlian couldn't imagin anyone wanting let alone fighting over. Over the one M class planet in an otherwise forgettable system dorlian spied the enemy craft sitting in high orbit. He didn't know what he trully expected, maybe a Trade Federation warship, or one of the new destroyer vessels entering CIS service. He did know that what he did see was the last thing he expected. First off it was unlike anyship he had ever seen. Burnt orange in color, it's "head" was a half circle fused to a thin "tail" that ended in a forked point. Rising out of the half circle in a wedge shape Dorlian guessed was it command center. A very unique vessel in all respects. Then thier was it's size. It was small, maybe about light cruiser size, perhaps even smaller. Hardly the sort of vessel sent to attack or invade a planet.

"Is that a Separatist vessel?"Dorlian asked.

"Unkown. It doesn't match anything in our database. I'm reading a few hundred lifeforms, some sort of shielding, and about a dozen or so partical empacments of a type I have never seen before." Answered the Sensor officer.

The vessel in question lazily turned towards them and opened fire. This took dorlian by complete suprise haven almost stopped thinking the ship was a threat. Never the less five red beams lashed out from the ship from various areas and impacted against the Indomitable deflectors unleashing for a few seconds thier volital energies. The ship mildly rocked from the direct hit.

"Status?"Dorlian asked

"Deflectors holding fine. Weapons output about MTL level."

"Decent for a craft it's size, but if that's the best they have this will be over in five minutes. Fire all HTL at it." Dorlian ordered.

In one thunderous instant eight bolts of plasma soared through the vastness of space and slammed into the enemy vessel. Or more accuratly hit the spherical shielding surronding the ship where the bolts blossomed into pryothecnic fireworks display. Leaving the ship otherwise unharmed.

"What in the hell? A full salvo should have blasted such a small ship. Readings?" Dorlian inquired.

"It's deflectors are holding at about 2/3 power."

"Fire again! This time throw everything we got!" Commanded Dorlian feeling his blood start burn with blood lust.

Before his command could be acted on however, the enemy vessel launched four blazing red missiles and with incrediably agility shot away from it's orignal postion. Dorlian's attencian was focused on the missile however, as he watched the point-defense lasers attempt and fail to shoot them down. This time the ship was rocked forcefully, nearly throwing Dorlian from his command seat.

"That attack had the same yeild as one of our full salvos of HTLs. Deflectors holding, but under some strain." The Weapons officer reported.

"Where is that ship. Blast it to kingdom come!"Dorlian shouted.

As if to puncuate his command the ship was shaken, mildly, again.

"I have it on scopes sir! It's performing some impressive manuvers and-"

The rest was cut off as the ship was shaken again as another four missiles impacted the Deflectors. This time Dorlian was thrown out of his seat.

"patch it's wherabouts to the con and follow suit" Dorlian said as he struggled back into his chair."Fire at will!"

Back in his seat he gazed intently at the viewscreen, as his ship attempted to follow the agile threat. Time and time again the ship would appear on screen for a few fleeting seconds as turbolasers tried to rake it, only to see it effortlessly veer away. Few of thier bolts struck home forcing Dorlian to consider other options. swiftly he reopened comunications to the hanger bay.

"launch all fighters! try to disable, slow down or destroy the enemy vessel." Dorlian commanded.

"Yes sir." Came the far to happy reply.

As Dorlian sat helplessly waiting for the fighters to disembark, he hoped they could slow the ship down. Dorlian knew that if he could just get the thing under the hail of his big guns, he could indeed finsih this fight in minutes.

"Fighers launched sir, and they are heading towards the enemy vessel."Stated the sensor officer.

"Good, ease up on our fire, but stay with it. We don't want to miss our chance."

Again the ship shook as for the fourth time four more missile exploded against Indomitable's defenses. Dorian gripped the arms of his chair tighly, and bit his cheek to keep his rage inside.

"That's the third time they hit our forward shielding. Two more salvos like that and it will fail."

Suddenly a panicked voice filled the bridge.

"This is blue squadron leader. Red squadron was just vaporised as we're completing our inital pass! A muliti-tude of those beams just jumped out and sliced them apart. Attempting second pass...Green squadrons being ripped apart! All units abort attack! I repeat abort attack! Those beams! Thier everywhere! Can't doge-"

The bridge grew increadly silent as the transmission jarringly stopped.

"There are no fighters on the scopes sir. Any damage they inflected was minimal."Informed the Sensor officer.

"Forget them, concetrate on that ship!"

For another minute or so the deadly danced continued with the Indomitable lumbering around scoring a few hits, while the enemy ships peppered them with missiles and it's partical weapons. Then as if by magic two HTL bolts and a MTL bolt were lined up right. The first HTL bolt was asborbed by the ships shield effortlessly. The second HTL was held at bay, but the shield visiably flared out. The MTL struck home againt the ship hull, and blasted a chunk out of it. Sensing blood, dorlian pressed the attack, raking the dancing ship with MTL fire. Even as it's hull was blown apart the ship managed one finial salvo ofmissiles, as well as six partical beams. The missiles overloaded the deflectors, allowing the beams to tear into the ships armor and hull with a fury. Dorlian could have cared less. All he wantd was to keep pumping deadly energy into the clearly stricken craft, and when the craft erupted into a minutar supernova he ,along with his bridge crew, let out a loud yell of victory.

"Damage?"Dorian asked after the cheering had stopped.

"Mostly minior. One HTL was blown off, but that's the worst thing. Everything else appears to be armor damage."Answered the weapons's officer.

"Sir, I'm detecting nearly a hundred lifeforms identical to the ones that were abored the enemy ship. The appear to be concetrated in one of the few major cities on the planet."declared the Sensor officer.

"Prep a landing force. Laats and AT-TE. Let's see how these guys handle heavy armor. Oh yeah no captives. Roast them alive."Dorlian said rubbing his hands and grinning evily.

Bloodlust burned in his viens to the point that the image of incenerating these alien devils(whatever they looked like) gave him a feeling of imense pleasuer. He knew they would rue the day they ever crossed paths with Commander Dorlian.

chapter two

Gul Solrian clipped his communicater back onto his belt. His scowl covered by his battle helmet.

"I've lost contact with the Valor."He commented to his aid.

The Gin nodded in understanding, as the two walked through the ruin of the captured city. Smoke rose heavily from it, and most buildings atleast showed signs of firefights, if they hadn't been turned into complete rubble. Looting through the rubble were Cardassian infantry looking for valubles and other such trinkits. Now and again they would have to throw one of the dead hew-mons out of the way as they dug deeper into debris. That of course puzzeled Solrian. How did Hew-mons arrive here and set up a colony? The wormhole near Bajor they had discovered had displaced them somewhere in the galaxy, so far from home that none of the starreadings had been able to identify thier position. That the federation had beaten them here was a cause for concern. Now that the Valor had been preambly destroyed by an unkown ship design, it was only a matter of time before Starfleet started beaming down it's troops.

"All Glins! Prepare you subordints for combat! Activate the transporter scramblers!"Solrian ordered.

His troops obeyed as they had been trained, but Solrian knew it was a futile gesture. A starship could easily afford to dispatch hundreds of troops, thousands if preped for war, and all he had was a platoon, and a squadron of assualt skimmers. Still better to die like a Cardassian then be caputred.

"Do you hear that rumbling noise sir?"Asked Solrian aid as the troops rushed around them in preperation.

Solrian strained his ears for a second, listen beyond the military chatter, and the banging of boots on hard ground.

"Yes, I do hear that noise. It's coming from the southern end of the city. Let's go see what it is."

Both men turned and headed towards a "borrowed" native hovercraft. A thin smallish Cardassian was seated in the driver seat, who looked on in disbelieve as the Gul and his Glin seated themselves in the rear and instructed him to head towards the southern area. Before they got even halfway through the blasted landscape the outer perimiter patrol contacted him.

"Greth'ors name! What the devil are they. This is Gin Marius, my unit is pinned down by....some kind of metal beats. Throw everything you have at-"

A sudden explosin silenced the other end. Before Solrian could raise the rest of the unit thier hover craft rounded a corner and the monstrosities were seen in all thier diabolical splender. Massive war machines propelled on six legs Strode through the outskirts of the city. Sweeping aside the rubble that had collected thier as if it didn't exist.

"Get us out of here!!!!"Screamed Solrian.

The driver respounded, swinging the nimble craft around and speeding away. Moments before weapons fire from the smaller anti-personel guns soaked the space they were previously inhabiting. Thier mian cannons fired at them too, but the Cardassian pilot effortlessly dodged them. The high yield rounds blew large gaping holes into the structuers around them, causing nearly microscopic concrete particals to fill the air. Coughing from this, Solrian started issuing orders the the rest of the formation. In paticulare the demolition attachment, and all the comendeered hoverships they had.

Later Solrian plan was starting to take shape. Three other hovercrafts had been rummaged up, and each one boasted a driver and imporvised gunner, Except for Solrian's one. In that one he took the place of the gunner(his aid havingbeen dispatched to the ground pounders in waiting). The giant war machines were slowly lumbering in thier general direction. Thier guns for the most part silent, possibly to avoid unnessacary civilian losses. A needless fear since most if not of the cities inhabinites had either died or fled during the attack earilier. With a simply arm gesture, the four hoverships launched as one. Skimming over the twisted debris they headed straight for the metal beasts. The armored units themselves were so surprised that such a puny and pointless assult was underway took several more seconds the nesacary to open fire. It was all for not, as the little vessels kept swerving and swaying out of the way of the light guns. Any one of which would have vaporised them in a single shot. Dodging the web of energy four attack crafts swarmed under the armored war wagons blasting away. Thier disrupter rifles might as well had been set to stun for all the good it did. The beam would impact, and cause the metal to glow for a second before the glow faded leaving the armor unharmed. Undetered the attack force kept swarming the much larger foe. Like Bzzzt gnats they couldn't harm thier victem, but they could sure as hell annoy it. The metal war wagons redoubled thier efforts to slay the pesky hovering pest, and succeded in only blasting thier comrades. Thier light guns' bolts harmlessly splashing against thier armor shading the AT-TEs in a greenish hue.

"Abort attack! Retreat plan Alpha!" Screamed Solrian into the vessels built in com system.

As ordered the skimming units quickly pulled out and started flying towards thier predecided retreat point. One hapless pilot misjuded his timing and collided with a downward moving leg. The fragile vessel crumpled like an eggshell against the armored leg, tranforming into a small fireball of burnt flesh and twisted metal. The rest made it out safely and quickly accerated away. The armored units quickly twisted around, and started lumbering after them, guns blazing. The rounds missed their target but reduced good chunks of the surronding landscape to a fine mist Solrian and his men had to fly through. Worse one of the main guns ruptured a tall and already badly damged building, causing it to topple towards the fleeing hovercrafts. With about a story worth of bulding plumiting towards them they had no time to evade, simply scream. Mere moments before Solrian vesel would have incenerated, a blown out window twisted into view. The pilot acting on adreniling and self persevating banked the craft as hard as he could, nearly slining both ocupants out of it. He made it through however, badly scrapping one side, in one piece. The other two vessels were not so luckly. The sound of thier explosin echoed through the still falling building. Speeding through the rapidly lowering hallway, Solrian craft smashed through an unbroken window just as the entire structure started to collasp from from hitting the ground. By now thier destination was in sight, the tallest thing in the entire city. A giant statue of some man named Palpatine smack dab in the center of the city. Draining everylast inch of speed out of the engines the tiny craft hurtled forward with the giant mechinized tanks close behind.

"Can't this go any faster!" Demanded Solrian.

"The thing is in the red now! It can't keep this up" the pilot replied.

A green bolt flew past mere inches from the pilots head and exploded harmlessly into a building.

"I'm going faster!"The pilot said as he pushed the thing for all it was worth.

As they sailed past the statue the pilot angled the ship towards an opening in a nearby building. Unlike most of it's fellow builidngs, this one had been built heavily fortified, and had served as some sort of administrating building until the Cardassians had "liberated" it. It was strongest building in the city and would have to serve Solrian purpuses. Once through the opening, the pilot cut the engines and the craft slammed into the ground with a rough jerk. It skidded across the ground for several feet throwing red hot sparks into the air, before it finely came to a rest. Glancing back at the long black streak the thing had etched as it dragged itself he shook his head.

"Why did you do that, instead of slowing down?"

"Engine was critical, it would have blown"

"Ugh. Shut the blast door, there is no one else coming."

As ordered a massive wall of durasteel slammed down covering the opening. Hobbling out of the crashed speeder, Solrian gripped his comunicater and activated it.

"Are they in range yet?" He asked.

"Nearly, just a few more seconds. This is kinda close for these jewels, Sir."replied a voice from the comunicator.

"It will be a lot closer to them."Solrian replied with smile on his lips.

"Detonation now!"

Over a dozen photonic demolition charges releashed thier full payload of matter/antimatter, erupting in a huge explosoin. The flash was so bright that even what managed to make it past the blast door was blinding to Solrian's eyes. He took comfort in the fact that those in the war walkers it would have been like a star had been born around them. Then the concusion force and thermal effects washed over them. Clucthing at his ears, Solrian dropped and curled into a ball as the tempature skyrocketed to oven like temps. BLind, deaf, and roasted Solrian felt as if he had been sent to hell, but then it was over. Theheat faded somewhat, and the roar stopped(through now a ringing had replaced it). Opening his eye's and stumbling in the ,now appearing, dark room he made it over to the blast door which had held. Bulging inward, and still mildy glowing, but it had held. A medic had struggled to his feat, and was waving a tricorder around the various dazed, and confused soldiers.

"Minimal radiation level. Nothing that should harm us in the near future."

"Good. Glin open up this door, it doesn't appear to respound to commands!"

The glin obedinatly picked up his rifle and set it to max and fired at it. On the third try the metal gave up the fight and disenergrated away into nothing. Giving them thier first look at the blasted crater laying a kilometer away. Three war wagons had been reduced to molten metal, while the rest had mostly been damaged in the explosin. Many had fallen into the crator upside and/or missing legs. Crippled, they were defenless as the dozen sleek, predatory assualt skimmers came flying in, weapons blazing. Powerful distupter cannons ripped into the disabled war machines's armor. As the destructive energies ate deep into the stricken crafts, they radomly set off fuel cells, or munitions. Causing a walker to suddenly explode for no appartent reason, showering it's comrades with metal scrapnel. As another and another went up, Solrian's men started cheering, and Solrian joined them. Untill the first skimmer exploded in midair. Rushing out into the open, and looking upward they spied the skimmers under direct assualt by fast, and agile aircrafts. using mainly missiles they slaughtered the skimmers in mere seconds, before swooping down to attack the Cardassians below. Solrian and most of the men standing outside managed to leap back inside before being cut down, but not everyone made it. Two Gins got caught in the stream of energy and were left twitching as the destuctive energies shredded them. Once it was beyond a doubt that the two Cardassians were dead, that craft stopped firing and lowered itself down to try and shoot through the doorway. Thorugh the glass like substance Solrian could see the pilot of the craft. Clad in white body armor from head to toe. His hands resting on the controls, he seemd to stare straight into Solrian soul. Then a Glin jumped into the way and fired his rifle at full power. The pilot, the copit, and a good bit of the forward chunk of the craft dissapated away like a fine mist. The gunners, acting either on instinct or training opened fire, slicing more then one Cardassian to bits. The pilotless craft lurched forward and attempted to smash it's way thorugh the rements of the blastdoor. The fireball that rushed into the room finished off most of who ever was left. For a few minutes the only sounds were the sizzling of flesh. The Sorlian's communicator beeped.

"This is Glin Degra! We're being overrun! I'm pulling back a squad worth of men down to the second story. I urg anyone left to try and reach this position. I repeat try and reach this position."

With great pain Solrian unclipped his comunicator and answered the voice.

"This is Gul Solrian. How bad is it?"he asked, coughing a bit to remove the smoke.

"Bad. Those attack crafts carry atleast a squad of soldiers each, and they've been pouring in through holes they blasted in the roof. How many men are with you? Can you reach the second story?"

Solrian managed to sit-up and glanced around the burnt mess that was the room.

"I'm alone, and I'll be there shortly."

Getting up, he unsteadly swayed for a moment before he got his bearings. Then he rummuged through what had once been comrades until he got a functional rifle, and then headed towards where the stairs were located. It soon became obviouse that thier wasn't just enemy soldiers running about on the 3rd level. The after effects of a recent battle still lingered all over the first floor, with Cardassians and white armored goons laying around in positon of agony. He stopped his trek briefly over a demolition engineer. Once he had what he was looking for, he tucked the baseball sized object away in a fold of his uniform. Having barely gone three feet from the grisly scene he ran into his first live clonetrooper. The trooper had apparently been checking for vitals among the fallen Cardassians and hadn't expected to find one alive and kicking. He tried to raise his gun at Solrian but before it was a third of the way there, a red beam pierced his chest, and he collasped dead. Glancing up at the doorway he had come from Solrain spied two more rushing forward. Solrian ducked backwards as blaster bolts exploded the wall behind him. Blinded by the dust that created he fired blindly as he retreated further backwards inot another room. apon seeing that the room held mutiple dead personel he quickly took up a position as one of the dead. his rifle discarded near the rear exit to this room. Shortly two armor claded troopers marched in, weapons at the ready. They moved to the center of the room, thier weapons sweeping across it, eyeing everything.

"Spotted live alien. We engaged it for a short time, but it appear to have alluded us. Request reinforcemnts."One of the beings said in a langues Solrians UVT translated into a form he could understand.

The two stood thier and slightly nodded thier heads as if listen to someone that Solrian couldn't hear. He didn't truly care either. In one fluid motion he leaped up and decked one hard enough to send him flying across the room, while leveling his sidearm at the other and firing. the beam caught the trooper in the back, and burned clean through. Turning his attencian back to the one he hit, he saw he had knocked the helmet clean off and stared at a younge man reaching for his weapon. The man looked right into Solrian's eyes at the beam drilled through his skull killing. The look in his eyes was something Solrian wasn't likely to ever forget. Glancing down at the still perfectly intact an idea hatched in his brain. Minutes later when a squad of Clonetroopers rushed past another trooper motioning them forward into the room, all they found was one dead trooper, shot in the back. What they didn't notice was the trooper outside hurring away, or that he was muttering Cardassian curses under his breath. Once he was far enough away he tried to look like he was doing a sweep and slowly worked his way towards the stairs. On the way he passed dozens of troopers. Some injured and being treated by medics, other checking either thier comrades or Cardassians for any signs of life. All payed him little heed. Continuing onward he detected the sounds of active combat, and hurried his pace. Spying the deserted stairs, and hearing the battle was raging from above, he took the step two at a time. The second floor was markly differnt from the first. While the first floor had large, grand rooms, to show of the power and dignity of the goverment, the second was designed to house the lowly clerical staff needed by any goverment structure. As such it was nothing but small interconneccted cubicals forming a deadly maze. With the sounds of battle echoing through the floor, Solrian carefully stepped into a shot-up cubical. Pressing onward he went from on to another, ever nearing the sounds of war. The rooms themselves were despresingly the same even by Cardassian standards. None possesed even a shred of personality. Just drab little rooms that at one timed held desks. He stopped short when he saw two white cladded goons engaged in a firefight. The were standing on each side of the doorway taking turns to fire a rapid series of red bolts through an empty room and into an adjoing room, then duck back before an orangishly-yellow beam would shoot back. That beam flew right by Solrian's head and nearly singed his helmet. One of the troopers saw this and leaped over, and tacked him down.

"Stay clear! Are you fresh out of Kamino?"The soldier asked as he got back up, and handed Solrian back his stolen weapon.

"No."Solrian said as he squeezed the trigger.

He hadn't been sure what setting the weapon had been set, but it had the desired effect. The small explonsin killed and knocked back the trooper, while showering Solrian with both sparks and smoke. Solrian was mildly surprised when he realised that the helmet he was wearing allowed him to see thorugh the smoke quite easily, almost as if it wasn't even there. Because of that, it made what he did next even easier. Swining the bulky gun towards the other foe who was just now realising what the shot had meant. His brief moment of insperation came a little to late. He dead body slumped against the doorway wall, as Solrian took of his helmet.

"Hold your fire. It's Gul Sorlian!"He shouted to who ever had been firing at the troopers.

Then he walked slowly into the next room looking straight ahead. A Cardassian soldier side-stepped into the doorframe ahead of him. Apon seeing that he was indeed who he said he was, he step aside and montioned for him to hurry. Solrian wasted no time getting into the room where he then proceed to strip off the white armor.

"What's the rush?"Asked the slightly confused Cardassian.

"This thing is designed for hew-mons. It's most uncomfertable to wear." He remarked as he finished striping.

Once more only dressed in his battle uniform he took in the men of this hold out. What a sorry sight they were. There were five, six if he counted himself, of them. Two were nursing nasty looking wounds, the others looked worn out. They were mostly sprawled out on the floor resting, with only one guard at each door.

"Anybody know where Glin Degra is?"he asked the group.

"Yeah. About three rooms that way and to your left. He got nailed as we fell back this way. We're all that's left." Replied one of the soldiers.

A wounded one, with his hand pressing a torn uniform bandage against the charred wound in his shoulder spoke up.

"looks like you arrived just in time for us to lose, sir."

Under regulations such blanatent disrespect was only answerable by very harsh treatment. Now however was not the time, so Solrian let the remark pass. Besides he was right. Outnumbered, boxed in, there was nothing he could do. A fresh batch of gunfire greeted them from both doorways. Garbbing a rifle from the hands of the one who made the comment, he jumped into the fray firing both the trooper gun, and the Cardassian one. He shot down mutiple clones, but that didn't stop the charged plasma from impacting his stomach. The pain fueled his conviction as he kept up the steady stream of fire into the sea of white. Behind him he heard the screams of agony as fellow Cardassian tried to stemm the white tide that was heading thier way. Two more bolts seared his flesh, causing new pain, and more importantly sapping his strenght. Like power had been cut, he mechanicly watched himself drop his weapons and collasp towards the floor. On the cold floor with his fading senses, he could tell the finial battle was wearing down. Soon the fight would be over and the strangly equiped Hew-mons would be the victors. He was reaching into his uniform for his last card to play when they barged into the room Spying him alive on the floor one pointed his gun at him.

"Hands up!"he screeched.

Solrian obliged him. Pulling his hand out, with the photonic charge in it. Pressing down he heard the tellitale whine of it arming. The trooper of course fired, killing the dieing Cardassian, and watched as the object dropped to the floor. It's whining getting louder. He leveled his gun to shoot it when it detonated.

"How bad?" Asked Commander Dorlian

The nervouse ensign figidited slightly before replying.

"Bad. Almost a thousand clones are believed to have died. Either from direct combat or when the goverment building went down. A third of our AT-TE have been either destroyed are badly mauled. Half a dozen LAATs were deploying troops when the building went down. Four of them with it."

"Vital combantants lost, a city totaled. Not the best day in my caree as a commander."He replied with a wiry smile.

"It could have been worse sir. A lot worse."

"true they could have invaded in force, not with a little token party. Thank the galaxy for small favors."

Commanders Log:
Three victory starcruisers have been dispatched towards us. As of right now we are treating it like a Separatist attack. The reinforcments are officaly there to help quell any Separatist generated terrorist acts until the planet has returned to normal. However no one I can get in touch with can identify the vessel that attacked us, or the bodies of the aliens we dragged out of the rubble. If a new third party has joined our civil war the implications are staggering. For now I plan to follow orders and see what winds blow our way. End Log.

Gul's report:
It's been nearly a day since we sent a lone Galor class vessel through the wormhole located near the planet Bajor. I have assumed it was destroyed with all hands. The discovery of a stable wormhole and the threats it repersents has forced me to strip Bajor of nearly it's entire defense fleet and place it around the wormhole. Added to this, is the fact that Terrok Nor is slowly leaving Bajor and will soon be in position. While only a lowly mining station, it is quicker and easier to upgrade it's weapons and defense then it is to build an entirely new station. More ships are on the way and once we are assembled in force we shall launch an attack in proper.

I really like the way you've set this up.

My only suggestion is that you spellcheck and proofread back over when you're done to make a finer finished product. Keep up the good work.
